Sennheiser CXC 700 3.5mm Connector Canal Earphone with NoiseGuard (Digital)

Comfortable, durable and powerful, these headphones provide great stereo sound from your portable audio equipment. Expect solid bass response and great noise suppression, along with uninhibited movement and good looks.

The Sennheiser HD 429 melds cutting edge sound with ultra-modern design. The closed-back design blocks ambient noise for use on-the-go, or in front of the latest movie download. The outer cup is covered in a textured grid which adds stability while showcasing the logo that's synonymous with true sound. The single-sided cable stays tangle-free, making it easy to use and store - if you can find a reason to take them off.

The HD 429 delivers powerful bass-response without the need for batteries or separate amplifier circuits while maintaining clarity. The low-impedance transducer system makes it ideal for use with portable media devices (tablets, MP3 players, smartphones, and netbooks). Moreover, the included 1/8in. (3.5mm) to 1/4in. (6.3mm) adapter allows the HD 429 to be plugged into your home audio receiver or other stereo equipment.

The HD 429 has closed cups that go around the ear damping the background noise, keeping your listening private. And the soft leatherette cushions are replaceable and plush for long-term listening comfort.

The single-sided cable reduces tangles.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: Really amazing headphones. Not only are they super comfortable, the long cord is great for a desktop setup. Sounds is better then any headphone I've tried for the great price of $35. Would recommend to anyone that doesn't have over the ear headphones.

Cons: A little loose around too of head.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Sound, but not very loud

Pros: Concise sound, long cord, comfortable pads for long wear (I use them to listen to music via Google Play while walking to work). They don't feel heavy when I wear them. Music reproduction is magnificent and I am able to really hear all the music and the different parts (like hearing the bass line in the back well) and the bass is very well produced.

Cons: The sound isn't very loud. I have to turn my phone volume all the way up to hear them without straining. I would expect them to be louder as they are with my Sennheiser headset I use for gaming that are 9 years old.

Other Thoughts: I went from using Razer Ear buds to these and I am somewhat disappointed as I feel I need to spend $20 and get an inline Amplifier in order to have the same volume that the Razer's had (that were 4 years old).
The sound reproduction beats the Razer hands down, but they win the volume trophy.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: great sound
very comfortable
solid jack connection

Cons: the cord really is just too long. I have the twist tie still around it bundling up like 5 feet of it. the wire is really thin too. A normal length braided cable would've really made these things feel solid.

1 out of 5 eggsI thought Sennheiser was a stand-up company...

Pros: Comfortable and good noise cancellation

Cons: Flimsy cord

Other Thoughts: I travelled to/fro work with these headphones, but the flimsy cord wasn't built for the movement and the connection by the jack became compromised causing intermittent delivery of audio. Sennheiser promptly replaced these with HD429's.

Again the same thing happened. I sent them back thinking I'd get the same quality service. Since more than 3 months ahd passed and these had been a warranty replacement, I wasn't entitled to another replacement. Only after I contacted them several months after sending did they acknowledge receipt of the headphones, but they never even sent back the broken headphones. At least I could have had someone local fix the cord.

I've since moved on from Sennheiser. The HD428's or HD429's would probably make a fine pair if you keep them in a single location and avoid the swinging cord motion which wears the audio jack connection.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It is a very nice pair of headphones,
great quality, comfortable, long cord, and is compatible with a Sound Blaster dongle I had, lots of headphones aren't.

Cons: Without a sound card or a sound dongle, it doesn't sound good, and is too quiet, if you want to buy these, make sure you have the right equipment to use their true power, since on board isn't enough to power them.

Other Thoughts: I bought them when they were on sale for $70, I see they are 80 now, I would still recommend them, only if you have a sound card to use its power.

5 out of 5 eggsBottom of the High-end

Pros: -Excellent, low distortion sound reproduction, which Sennheiser is known for.
-Plastic band is not the best, but it's sturdily built.
-Despite near-constant use, I have had these headphones for almost a year now with no problems.
The cable on mine has been tugged on with forces that would have ripped the wires for other headphones out of their sockets, and it's still fine. Just goes to show the quality of construction from Sennheiser.
-Padding is plush and comfortable, though some of the glue on the top part has been worn off since a couple week's worth of use.* That's probably a one-off issue, as I haven't seen anyone else complain about it.
-Nice bass response that isn't overpowering.

Cons: -Cable length is long for headphones that were designed to be used with portable devices. It frequently gets tangled or caught in the wheels of my computer chair because of how thin the cable is, coupled with its length.
-Also, these headphones don't like to stay on my head if I lean it too far, or if move around too much. I recommend these for stationary listening only. Don't try to walk around with them on.

Other Thoughts: It's no HD800, but it is a very good pair of cans nonetheless.

*Because of the gap between the headband and the middle of the padding due to the worn-out glue, even my short hair gets caught in the gap if I don't set it straight down on my head. Pulling them off can be a little painful.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: These headphones are really nice, good sound (with a sounds card, if not dont get them).

Cons: They feel like cheap plastic, like with just me putting them on/off will break them one day, which isn't good,
Also the sound is not very good without a sound card, its also very quiet without a sound card, overall these are decent,
cant get much better for the price, so I'll keep it at 4 instead of 3 eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: -Good response of all frequencies
-Comfy ear-pads
-Can be run off of any device (Ipods, computers, etc.)

Cons: -Cord is thin and easily breakable
-Mids are too high, pushes out the rest
-Not "bass" headphones by any means
-No detachable cord

Other Thoughts: I bought these for a friend as introductory "good" headphones. I bought a 3.5mm female jack, took out the original cord and soldered the jack in place with silver solder along with some plastic epoxy. It allows for any 3.5mm male jack to connect to it so it's removable like any good pair of headphones. No issues have been had so far, the person finds the sound to be much better than any other headphone and the structure to be of good quality. Overall these are greatly priced currently and are worth every penny.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor material quality

Pros: Still has class Sennheiser sound.

Cons: I have been a customer of Sennheiser's headphones for close to a decade, I originally owned a pair of HD 428's that lasted 3 years. Now in the last 4 months I've gone through a new 428 and now a 429 that both have deteriorated disturbingly quickly as the wire fails somewhere just past the jack.

Other Thoughts: I can't recommend a replacement brand just yet, but for my atleast I am not going to throw anymore money at Sennheiser equipment as it is definitely no longer remotely close to professional grade.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Headphones

Pros: High quality plastic, the foam and material covering it are quite comfortable. Sound is very clear, bass doesn't drown out the treble. Gold plated connector, shouldn't wear out anytime soon. Fits my rather small head and my brother's large head comfortably.

Cons: Doesn't quite grip as well as I had hoped, wobbles a bit and fatigues ears after a while.(1 or 2hrs). The bass is a tiny bit too quiet, personal preference though. Cord is something off a pair of earbuds.

Other Thoughts: Paired with a Xonar DX, the bass is easily rectified and sounds great.
