5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: These are the most durable earbuds I've ever owned. I worked in the food service business for a couple years until recently, and I wore these all the time while working. I also wore them at my other job, so there was a lot of moving them around, always in my pockets. Sometimes I would come home exhausted and fall asleep with them still in my pockets for me to roll over on. I've had these yanked out my my ears, sometimes hitting hard objects with force. I've even dropped the left earbud in water twice, and I've worn them while washing dishes and spraying water everywhere. I have used them to fall asleep many times, and I generally find them under me when I wake up. They've been left in a car, baking in the sun when it was 100 degrees outside. They've been left outside when it was below freezing. Tight knots in the wiring. Etc., etc., etc.

Looking at all this after I've typed it make me realize I've been very irresponsible with my handling of these, and yet they still work! I've owned other pairs that broke in only 2-6 months from this wear, which maybe is even understandable given how hard I am on these kind of things.

Next is the audio quality, which is amazing. Deep, clear lows and crisp highs. These also get very loud. Probably too loud at the highest volume. Yet even at the highest volume there is virtually no distortion, granted I use a minimum of 192kbps+ mp3 and plenty of lossless (flac, etc) mixed in.

As if all this wasn't enough, I absolutely love the volume controller. On most mobile devices, often with volume control it goes up and down with gaps in between. The second loudest peg is too loud, but the third loudest peg is not quite loud enough. The volume controller lets you roll along the spectrum rather than jumping through it.

The left and right earbuds are clearly labeled L an R with c colored circlular background so it's easy to tell which is which.

I just don't have enough effusive praise for these. I came here to buy a backup pair, and saw that they've been discontinued by Sony, so I'm buying two right now because I figure they'll last me a long time.

Cons: I find sometimes that the length of the wire is just a couple inches too short, where they will pull out of my ears slightly but not get completely yanked out.

The volume controller takes some getting used to, as it is very sensitive and peculiar. The bottom half of the range sounds virtually identical, right up to the point just as you hit the middle. The top ~15% is similar for the high end, so you end up with little room to operate. I could see how some people might have trouble with it.

The three different earbud sizes seem way out of whack to me. The biggest size is absolutely huge and the smallest seems pretty average.

Other Thoughts: Ultimately this is an excellent pair of earbuds regardless of price. If you are considering the price then these are an absolute steal.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat price & sound, not terribly durable.

Pros: Great sound, in-line volume is great during workouts, really good price for the quality.

Cons: Durability. This is the third pair I've had. I keep buying them because I do really like them BUT there is always a weak spot in the cord wiring. It's either right near the plug or at the right earbud. Sony's warranty is short so you just end up buying another pair. The last pair I had lasted around 6-8 months. I use my earbuds almost every day, so I have to have something I like, but I wish they could make something more durable.

5 out of 5 eggsBest earbuds I've ever purchased.

Pros: 1. Great build quality
2. Good audio range.
3. Beefy Bass
4. Cord length is optimal for exercising.
5. Very snug fit, they never fall out of my ears.
6. Multiple ear cups, 3 different sizes.

Cons: 1. Packaging is awkward.
2. Bass might be a bit too beefy for some music.
3. Personally, after a while the snug fit can can cause inner ear fatigue.

Other Thoughts: Great bargain, decent warranty, Sony quality. I would buy them again.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice earbuds - Sound great!

Pros: Sounds great. 7k-23k or so frequency response. It came with s/m/l sizes of ear things. The volume control seems to be of better design than most. They are very comfortable. The cord is long enough, maybe too long, but is a very flexible silicon stuff that might last a while.

Cons: None. I haven't checked the price of replacement ear pieces yet though.

Other Thoughts: If you are into earbuds instead of headphones these are excellent. Buy these and give them a shot before you go pay a stupid amount for Beats or something that sounds worse. I normally use big old school nice headphones with 53mm drivers. These little guys amazed me.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic buy.

Pros: These earbuds sound fantasic at any volume you set them to, the inline volume control is handy if you've got your media device in your pocket, they don't have silly looking garbage on them (unlike SkullCandy), and the price is just great.

I would absolutely recommend these.
Incredible what they deliver for so little money.

Also, I've had these for over a year now, and haven't had any problem with their durability.

Cons: none!

5 out of 5 eggsWithout fault. Buy these, you won't be disappointed.

Pros: These earbuds are as close to audiophile quality as you'll get in this modest price range. Forget anything offered by phillips at this price, they simply don't compare.

The highs are crisp and clean, the midrange is present without overstepping its bounds, and the bass is well rounded without being boomy. These earbuds actually work well without any EQ at all, which I did not expect to be possible. They play loud and clean all day long, and make mp3's sound as good as they can. The smoothness and the flatness of the response is very non-fatiguing, I feel I could have them on for weeks. I'm truly staggered by how much I got for my money.

The build quality is also superb. The plastic is of high quality, and the integrated strain relief give me peace of mind that they won't be shorting out anytime soon. The wire insulation feels durable, made of soft rubber, not the cheaper plasticy stuff. The earpieces are amazingly soft and exceedingly comfortable. Again, blown away by these buds

Cons: None, absolutely none that I can see. The volume control is a bit useless for me, I'd personally rather pay a bit less for a version without one.

Most people have it ingrained in their head to use their device's volume controls. I can see how it might be convenient to some, but I am a creature of habit.

Other Thoughts: I've owned a few pairs of Sony's cheaper Bumpin' Buds, which were nice, but had a few problems, chief among which was the lack of a strain relief for the wire. This caused a terrible problem, in that the movement of the wire within the chamber during use would inevitably destroy the wire connection to the driver, causing a short. Before I found these, I went through 3 pairs of BB's each lasting less than 6 months. There was also a characteristic cheapness to them, the wire had cheaper plastic insulation, the earpieces weren't the best. The sound quality was good, but the midrange was a little shouty. Overall, while I liked them while they lasted, I wasn't entirely satisfied.

These, by contrast, are without fault. They are well worth the premium price over the BB's, because they're just plain better. They have every feature you need, they do not feel at all cheap, the sound quality is superb, and they seem like they'll last for years of use. I am immensely satisfied. Buy these!
