5 out of 5 eggsBest Budget Headphones

Pros: I've had a navy blue pair of these for nearly FOUR years now. They might look cheap, but they're very sturdy. Never had an issue. They also sound great. I listen to music, watch videos, play FPS games, and they work fine. When I don't feel like plugging my $60 gaming headset up, I just get these and plug them right up. They sound just as good, and are much more comfortable. Never doubt Sony!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My version had that Sony letters protruding out, so the silver came off in a few months. The letters are flat on this, so it may or may not be an issue. Not like it actually matters though.

5 out of 5 eggsA new budget go-to

Pros: Uses: Desktop computer, minor phone transport

- My experience with Sony's have always been pretty good, and the experience with these headphones are no exception.

- I've had a pair of Bose headphones that were horribly constructed and had worse bass response than these, but I've also had a pair of Audio Technica's that had far better construction than these with much better sound. Granted, both of these were ~$150 options each whereas these were bought for only $20.
Cost : Quality = Phenomenal.

- While I'm not too hard on my headphones, these have taken some beating and lived. After a year of ownership, I've never experienced a loose wire.

- I love how lightweight they are. I forget if I had to flex them to fit comfortably after I just purchased them, but I usually do that. These fit fairly snug, but ear fatigue is incredibly minimal, in my case. This is something I tend to be sensitive to. I absolutely need to be able to wear a pair of headphones for hours on end without the need to shake the pain away for hours afterwards. This is likely the biggest plus I can give them.

Cons: - Like others have said, they're constructed of somewhat flimsy plastic. They've stood the test of time, however, and have surprised me with how well they've kept up. In the end, I think the fact that they're lightweight but durable puts this as that last Pro I gave, but I could see how other's would view it differently.

- The volume doesn't reach extreme levels, nor is the highest level obtainable without a muddled sound. It's never been too much of a problem, since I'm getting older and fearing tinnitus caused by my youth, but I've found myself wanting just a bit more "oomph" at times.

- Also like other's have said, they're not noise-cancelling.
- A 50" cord can be short under different circumstances.

Other Thoughts: - I'd love to afford a replacement for my Audio Technica's, but these have definitely proved their worth over time. I bought them at a Best Buy initially as a cheap temporary solution and they've kept up very nicely.

- Nice freq range, though it lacks in deafening volumes.

- I'd say this is the best for the dollar. If you want to spend $50 more, you might find better quality with an attached mic. For me, these are good for another year, at least as backup.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible headphones for this price

Pros: Extremely low price, very good sound range, light weight. They sound much better than what I was expecting.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You will be shocked at how well these sound for the price you pay. Note, don't buy these if you are looking for full noise canceling headphones. They are only partial.

5 out of 5 eggsSONY MDR-XZ100

Pros: Low price, clear nice sound, light weight

Cons: Zero!

Other Thoughts: These are excellent low price SONY headphones for every day use. The sound is very clear and the headphones are very light and can be worn for long hours with no discomfort.
Every time I purchased any thing from Newegg, it was shipped fast and exactly as the item was described on their website. I recommend these headphones to anyone who doesn't want to pay a high price and looking for a great pair of headphones.

Pros: Sounds great
Good price

Cons: Shorter cord compared to most of the headsets I use, but not big enough to take off an egg.

4 out of 5 eggsGot These At Target For $20

Pros: Not bad for $20. Obviously I wasn't expecting much, but these headphones were quite good for their price. Always remember to fiddle around with your sound card settings to get the best experience. My onboard sound has a lot of features, so maybe these won't sound as good on other PCs. The adjusting sliders work quite well, and aren't a slide kind of thing; there are distinct notches. Right-angle plug is easier to insert. Great highs and excellent lows, again, for the price.

Cons: Each can has a cord coming from it, which I think is annoying. Also, the cords are fixed to a point where they combine into one, but they twist around (they're asymmetrical) and don't line up right. Hard to explain, but it's just 'cause I'm a tad OCD; don't worry about it. They're not wireless, but they shouldn't be; they're $20! Ear-cans aren't terribly comfortable, and it feels like they should be closer to your ears, at times. Mid-range is a little low-quality sounding. One big thing: when a powerful, loud part of the song hits (I listen to hardstyle; maybe your songs won't do this), they can't get enough power right away, and the sound "drops" for a few seconds, then comes back.

Other Thoughts: Not sure about how easy it is to tell where enemies are in games: don't play FPSs much. Anyway, here's my bottom line: excellent value with great highs and lows, annoying cords, and the weird thing I told you about in the Cons. WHEW!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Headphones

Pros: It's a Sony. Great sound quality. Good over-ear fit.

Cons: Advertised as "noise canceling" headphones. They are not.

Other Thoughts: They were a good buy even without the noise canceling feature.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad for diposable cheap phones

Pros: Decent sound, solid bass and poor man's noise canceling features at a low price. I bought 'em for work in a noisy office. I assume I'll get a year out of them cause they're kind of flimsy and may break or might just walk away some evening when I'm not there. At the price, I'm at peace with it.

Cons: Short headphone cord means I'm tethered a little closer to the desk than I'd like.... c'mon how much can you save by eliminating 8 inches. Kind of chinzy, not like to make more than a year.

Other Thoughts: There was a time when Sony was known for high quality and those days are long gone of course.... in EVERY product line. But modern prices reflect this and if you want a decent sounding pair of headphones that you'll get a year or two of use without worrying to safeguard them, etc. these are them.
