4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: It does the job with little issue
Easy to hook up

Cons: For my needs the jacks were the wrong size but adapters are plentiful and cheap

Other Thoughts: At the price this is perfect for my home sound distribution. I needed a line amplifier because the max volume on my primary audio server was not enough where the amplified speakers in other rooms had sufficient volume. By having four separately controlled lines this little amp allows me to set the output so that each room's amp can be set in the range where it sounds the best.

5 out of 5 eggsClarification

Pros: Do not own.

Cons: Do not own.

Other Thoughts: Previous reviewer doesn't know what headphone amplifiers do. It's not an EQ, it's simply increasing the power of the signal sent to the headphones - 'turn up the volume' is what that means, it won't do any additional modification or processing of the signal, and doesn't advertise that capability.

3 out of 5 eggsExcellent splitter, terrible true amplifier

Pros: Solid construction (all metal) individual volume adjustments for each of four possible headphone outputs

Cons: Comes with NO cables or adapters whatsoever beyond the power cord. Very disappointing, as I had to spend another $20 in chords to get it working at all.

Doesn't actually amplify anything. Sure, you can turn up the volume, but the input signal is completely unamplified. So flat bass stays flat.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to work with my corsair HS1A gaming headset, which by all accounts needed good headphone amplification. I bought this as a cheap alternative to buying a new sound card. All I got was a well made splitter with volume control.
