4 out of 5 eggsSimply Outstanding!

Pros: Well, I just finished watching my first movie with the AX Pro, and I made sure it was a good one.
First one was Captain America, second was Avatar, and I gotta say this headset is just GREAT, there are no words to describe the quality it provides.
I watched both movies from beginning 'till end without having to take the headset off, since the confort it provides!
I've it connected it directly to my motherboard through the Optical cable, and it sounds awesome! *took me some time to make all configurations correctly.
If you're someone like me that spends all night gaming/watching or even voice-chatting, than this is the right headset for you, I've been wearing it for 6 hours straight and can't even feel it! (Yes, I use glasses and have a big head, most common issues, but the headset adjusts just fine!)
The hand-controller for volume, muting, etc., works OK, nothing new about that. Dolby Decoder as well (it has some downs, which I will point out in the cons)
The mic (contrary to what people may believe) is pretty fine, you just have to learn how to fix it in place, it's ok really, and works just great.
As for gaming, what can I say? Playing ArmA 3 and CoD is much better now since I can hear my enemies from far away!
Another good thing you can do with this headset, is plug your External HDD on your TV, and plug the headset straight on the TV, and the sound will come flawless! Procedure extremely recommended, specially if you have a good TV! (not my case, but I went to my uncle's to test it, and it played just fine)

Cons: Not everything is flowers, so let's go!
Some downs of this headset:

- If you're using this product on a computer, I believe you're going to want to be ready to buy a new PCI-e soundboard, because my Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium from 2011 got left behind by this headset and the decoder (this is the down), so I can't extract the full potential (Dolby Digital Live) because my Mother Board does not support it.

- If you're listening to high bitrate songs, the headset is going to play just fine, but if you play standard 128kbps songs, you're gonna notice some hissing (not sure is this is a pro or con), no matter the volume. I haven't tested it on a good soundboard yet, I'm going to buy Recon3D from Creative in a couple of months, but I honestly don't think it will get any better, because I believe that the headset is very good when playing high quality sound, but not that great with low quality.

- Waaaaay too many wires!

- It took me nearly a whole afternoon to setup this properly with a decent sound and understand all the controls, because the manual is useless, and only comes with explanation for PS3/XBOX360. I mean seriously, Tritton/Mad Catz?

- The first few hours are VERY uncomfortable, it takes a while to get used to it. A good while.

Other Thoughts: I don't know if I'm lucky or it's just fate, but rarely any hardware I buy comes faulty, but this headset, despite of what other people say, is really great, it's at a great price, and definitely deserves your try!

3 out of 5 eggsMostly Good

Pros: The headset did what advertised: "5.1 True Surround" .. Performs great.

Cons: Did not go well with glasses at all. Also was very big, but I am a small person. The main concern was that the sound cancellation was horrible, one of the main concepts to a good gaming headset was limiting the sound around you and concentrate what was coming from your console, the headset failed to do that and I heard everything outside just like without the headset on. Another thing was that it did lack some comforatbility due to it's cheap plastic construction.

Other Thoughts: I reccomend this if your a bigger person, who doesn't care about money.

3 out of 5 eggsMIC NEEDS REPLACED

Pros: Convenient controls to customize different sound levels (front, back, center, bass)

Fair sound, easy to distinguish where the target is in fps..

Cons: My mic stopped working right away.. There site has a list of parts to buy separately, and every time i check for a 10$ mic replacement, it is out of stock in the U.S..

These headphones break often and their support is terrible.. For 150$ I would buy them again if the company got their head out of their.. And offered replacement parts..

Other Thoughts: Don't buy these. They don't deserve customers.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome! Pick this one!

Pros: Great sound quality, being able to change your sub, center, front, and rear on the fly without alt tab ect. is awesome! can wear them for hours on end with no pain or discomfort, two choices for ear pads (leather, cloth) I have a unusually big head and they fit mine and my wife's with no problems.

Cons: price?

Other Thoughts: Strong cord! Rolled over the cord with my chair numerous times with no negative effects, has a break free just before the inline volume switch witch has saved me countless times from tearing my optical out apart.

4 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: The sound is amazing. I have owned them since 2010, the highs and lows come invery well. When connected to an optical out the channel distiction is is very clear. I use them to play C.O.D. and BF3, they alway give me the upper hand when it come to finding enemys. Headset also has a very high confort level.

Cons: Only problem I have had so far is the power connctor. it stop working on me after 4 weeks. Being that i have all types of old power cables i was able to find two that fit. I did not look in to a replacement do to that.

1 out of 5 eggsgood but not thanks

Pros: good sound for about 9 month, then wire coming loose.

Cons: The wires are coming loose and the MadCat (they bought Tritton) refuse to repair the headset since I bought them when triton owned the company. The MadCat is the crappiest company I EVER had to deal with. I would NEVER recommend this Headset even to my enemies.

Other Thoughts: If you are thinking about buying them DON'T. Get TurtleBeach better quality and better service.

3 out of 5 eggsOK but not worth the money

Pros: surround sound does seem more realistic than the 3D surround made from 2 speaker only headphones. Ear Pads are big and are more comfortable than the turtle beach units i tried.

Cons: Doesnt get very loud.
Not much Bass.
The sacrifice u make for getting 4 speakers to fit in each ear, they end up being smaller

Other Thoughts: Just invest in a good stereo headset with 3d surround. like the turtle beach dx12 $80. Thats what i ended up choosing in the end even over $250 units.

1 out of 5 eggsSlippery Slope Build Quality

Pros: Great sound when every thing works
Works for all 3 major gaming platforms

Cons: Build quality
Crazy amount of wires
Takes up a power outlet
How the mic is attached
Terrible customer service
Only 1 year warranty (more is needed for this product, at least 2 years)

Other Thoughts: These sounded great for about 3 months. Then the mic died. I suspect it was because it was removable and as a result, the mic jack was damaged. Fast forward 6 months and the rear speakers died. This was caused by the wires failing as twisting the wire around a bit brought the sound back (but only if held in place). Okay, no big deal. I'll just turn off rear speakers. Then 3 months later the left front speaker died. This is also due to wire failure as it had similar symptoms as when my rear speakers died. In short, don't buy this product. I was satisfied with the hefty price tag for those first 3 months when everything was working. My headset was a slippery slope as components continued to fail. I was much happier with my basic 50 dollar 2 speaker headset I owned (which I will use now since this headset has failed). Do not recommend this product. The warranty is too short to cover the wire failure that may eventually happen. There are better products for a lower price.
