4 out of 5 eggsSett-up and use

Pros: Set-up was relatively easy. Just follow the directions--they are pretty clear. Usage was a little difficult the first time as a FAX, but has gotten easier as I do it. I haven't tried the copy feature.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best Paper Fax

Pros: This brother Fax works faster than my old HP fax, and

has better quality. I love this fax machine.

Cons: Nope, so far so good.

3 out of 5 eggsFor Personal, Not SOHO, Ribbon Limitations

Pros: Easy set-up. Easy configuration. Have to read manual, of course. Very small footprint due to no output tray; I consider that a plus, not a minus. Big dialing buttons helps avoid misdialing. Paper feed works well. Faxes are serialized on sent fax, and fax reports. Comes with handset.

Cons: Design flaw in the way print ribbon is utilized by fax. Since a fax is a picture, the ribbon advances full length of page whether there is printing or not. Therefore, much of the ribbon can be skipped, and wasted. Toner based units should not suffer this technical problem. One possible work-around - do not print a report after each fax comes in. Rely on once-a-day cumulative report, and manually write serial numbers on your cover sheets, after the fact.

LCD readout is small, but readable at the right lighting angle.

Other Thoughts: NOT FOR SOHO USE. Purchased at a decent discount, and used infrequently, may yeild your best satisfaction. It serves my purposes.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected, great price!

Pros: It sends/receives faxes and makes copies. It also works as a phone, I can't expect any more from it. Easy setup. It works perfectly.

Cons: None as far as I can tell. Granted, my knowledge is limited as far as fax machines go, but I see no cons.

The only problem I might run into from what I've read is replacing ink cartridges, but I 'll see how that goes.

Other Thoughts: My dad told me to order a cheap fax machine for his towing business so he could receive jobs via fax, so I did. I got the machine on sale for $39.99 and it was a bargain. It does everything we need it to do.

We're only going to be receiving a few faxes a day, so this machine will be perfect. I recommend this product to anyone who needs a fax machine unless you're going to be doing a lot of heavy faxing all day, you'll probably want to get something a bit better if that's the case.

5 out of 5 eggsperfect for a beginner like me!

Pros: Small & it looks sleek/cool.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This is my very first fax machine and I successfully set everything up within 15-20mins. Within the next 5mins., I was sending AND receiving faxes!

2 out of 5 eggsLong term....not worth the money

Pros: The reason I bought this Fax was the price / size and weight. I was looking for a Basic Fax for my dad.

Cons: I like to read reviews before I buy something, and this is one Fax machine I overlooked with cost. Cartridges approx. $20 lasted me about three months. (rating was 150 pages). I am going with the HP officeJet 4215 All in one to send to my dad.

Other Thoughts: My dad's use of a fax isnt very often (perhaps one fax every 2-3 days if soo much). I was hoping with that in mind...the cartridges would last wayyy longer
