Super-Powerful Intelligent 80x Zoom / Optical 50x Zoom with Built-in Wi-Fi Function
Equipped with Intelligent 80x Zoom/Optical 50x Zoom, the HC-V520 can capture even the images of craters on the moon in Full-HD image quality. It lets users easily shoot distant subjects that are too far away to capture clearly with conventional zoom functions.
The HC-V520 is also equipped with Level Shot Function, in addition to the 5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S.+ that thoroughly suppresses blurring over the entire shooting range. Level Shot Function automatically detects and corrects the tilting of captured images. It records crisp, clear images with reduced blur and more horizontal even if when shooting in an unstable or awkward position such as low-angle or high-angle shooting.
The HC-V520 supports NFC to achieve one-touch connection with a smartphone. There is no need for cumbersome settings. Once a smartphone is connected, it can be used to remotely check audio recording, zoom In/Out, shutter ON/OFF and other functions while viewing the live image. Highlight Playback of recorded images is also possible with a smartphone or tablet. Favorite scenes can be shared on SNS with simple drag-and-drop operation.
The Wi-Fi function enables real-time broadcasting of important events via Ustream. This lets users deliver live images to people with Internet access around the world. There is also a function to send e-mail to notify the start of streaming to preregistered e-mail addresses. Home Monitoring lets users check on pets or family at home from the outside. They can even speak to their pets or family while viewing them on the screen, and record images remotely from a smartphone.
The 2.25-Megapixel BSI Sensor has improved high sensitivity performance to record easy-to-see, clear images even in dimly lit situations. Still pictures can be recorded in high, 10-megapixel resolution.
Great Camera - Lousy Wifi
This review is from: Panasonic HC-V520K Black 1/5.8" MOS 3.0" LCD 50X Optical Zoom Full HD HDD/Flash Memory Camcorder
Pros: Beautiful picture and a great zoom. I like the switch on the back to change your mode from view recordings, record video, and take pictures. Each mode gives you its own menu on the lcd. Like I said at the beginning, the picture quality is awesome in video and photos. Microphones appear to work very well even in high volume situations like a busy/loud church music service. Camera is uber-lightweight. Very intuitive interface with a lot of really cool and USEFUL options such as the USTREAM record/no record while streaming and the visual level meter. Automatic shutter protection. Media placement and removal is easy and unobtrusive. If this was simply a camcorder for my family, it would be a 5-star, but that wasn't my primary purpose.
Cons: I bought this to stream church services through USTREAM, and the feature to automatically do this (even though you have to pass through Panasonic's LUMIX web service) made it exactly what we were looking for; mobile, lightweight quality video and sound that could be streamed to members unable to attend. Unfortunately, this thing absolutely refuses to stay connected for any length of time while streaming. Normally it stays connected for 3-5 minutes and then drops the connection forcing me to stop the streaming process, exit that application, restart it and reconnect and hope it'll stay up and running....which it never does (except once when it stayed connected for an incredible 25 minutes before disconnecting). I've tried this on several networks and the result is always the same. I even set it up here in my home where I run a very tight network with good components and it lasts an average of 6 minutes. Quality of the stream makes no difference, nor does audio characteristic of the situation, mobile or stable....flat out, it will not stay connected while streaming.
Other Thoughts: Really love this just as a camera, but there's a serious issue with their streaming capability. Shouldn't be this hard with today's technology.
