1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Quality

Pros: Theoretically good feature set.

Cons: Cheap plastic. Arrived with broken release tab on leg making it very difficult to extend all three legs. The quick release lever is wobbly and I was constantly concerned that my camera would fall off. With minimal use, the quick release lever broke off. There is no way to fix this critical piece.

Other Thoughts: This thing is a piece of junk, stay away. Not worth the cost of shipping back. Would not use with an expensive camera. Learned my lesson and will buy a higher quality tripod.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Tripod

Pros: Maybe sturdy.

Cons: The adapter waggles freely, yes, even after inserting some kind of spacer. So literally it is useless.

1 out of 5 eggsBe very careful

Pros: I'd say price, but that would imply that the product was of some value.

Cons: I should have trusted the reviews I read before buying it. The tripod arrived with the mounting adapter broken. There isn't a do-it-yourself fix for this. The plastic used to make this tripod is of the worst quality. I wouldn't even re-order this model if it was guaranteed to arrive in perfect condition. And I wouldn't trust it to hold anything valued over $25.

Other Thoughts: The hassle to return this is greater than what I spent, so I'm going to toss it in the recycle bin. Stay. Away. I've used a cheap tripod before, so I know you can't expect much for ~$25, but this unit is fatally flawed.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Low Cost Solution - Initially Had Wobble Problem

Pros: Price is right. Lots of flexible adjustments which are all very intuitive and easy to use. Travel/shoulder bag is very convenient.

Cons: Tripod initially shipped with the same unstable wobble problem that another reviewer mentioned. I was very upset, but could not conceive of a tripod that had this kind of problem (as the other reviewer stated...a tripod is supposed to be designed for stability, if nothing else)! Ended up finding out that the quick release lever was loose and needed tightening... A screwdriver and 15 seconds later, and the thing was as stable as a rock! The instructions really need to note this as a troubleshooting item... I am sure many returns can be avoided (I was just about ready to send mine back)!

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for an inexpensive, but solid solution, this should work out fine. I have some concerns that the leg adjustment locks will wear out over time, but this is not based on any experience...just a fear of mine... But if this lasts me a few years, the cost/benefit works out great for me... I would bet good money that this ends up lasting me 10+ years...

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth even sending back

Pros: It's a tripod. It has a bubble level. It comes with a carrying case. It has a handle to carry it around as well.

Cons: The quick release mechanism is so sloppy that I would not even put a point and shoot on this tripod. It wobbles in every conceivable direction. Tripods are supposed to be to steady the camera- this one can't steady itself let alone put a few pounds of camera on it.

Other Thoughts: The first one shipped from newegg was broken to bits. This is the replacement.. To pay another $10 to ship a $30 tripod back- not sure it is worth the trouble. The best thing you can do with this tripod is to leave it on the shelf. I was able to tighten up the mechanism some- but am not sure how long that will work..

5 out of 5 eggsGreat tripod

Pros: Great features, quality build, very good price. I use this for recording my daughter's B-ball games, in conjunction with a Canon HF-200. All of the directional adjusters have tighteners to prevent unwanted movement. It pans and elevates very smoothly. Quick release pad is secure to both camera and tripod. Small unidirectional bubble level is easy to see and makes leveling a snap. Legs are sturdy and feet are ball-type connectors for stable contact with ground. Comes with a zippered storage bag with adjustable strap.

Cons: None to date.

Other Thoughts: "Manual" consists of double sided 3X3 card. No real instructions, but if you've used a tripod before, you know what to do, it's not difficult

Bottom line, if you're looking for a simple to use indoor/outdoor tripod, you won't go wrong here. The quality is great, it's not for Nat Geographic or "extreme" photography, but I don't do that anyway.

As always, Newegg rocks!!!
