5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: All metal construction
Quiet power supply
It just works

Cons: I don't feel it is worth subtracting a star because everyone does it, but I wish companies would start moving the power supply bricks away from the plugs by at least six inches or so. It's so hard to fit them onto power strips or UPS's.

Other Thoughts: After running out of ports on my 8-port 10/100 switch that I have had for years, I decided to stick with the 16-port 10/100 switch because of seeing slightly more problems with 10/100/1000 switches in general and the fact that 10/100 mb is plenty fast for our house, even streaming 1080p videos. As expected, five minutes after unboxing it I was up and running and have had zero problems since. I will keep the 8-port switch as a backup or place it downstream on the network somewhere else in the house. I have been very happy with these Netgear 10/100 switches.

5 out of 5 eggsLasted 5 years (died today)

Pros: I bought this in 2007 and it died today in Sept 2012. And best of all, Netgear has a LIFETIME warranty on this product, so I'm getting a new one now!

Cons: No cons.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good

Pros: No issues at all

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: These are very good switches, don't hesitate to get one. (Unless you're looking for gigabit)

I've owned at least 2 of these and while they may have been put out of commission i know they still work.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Cheap Switch

Pros: Good cheap switch.

Cons: Not Auto-Switching

Other Thoughts: Purchased this switch to expand LAN over maximum recommended cable length from primary switches. Primary switch----{fs116}------PC After a couple weeks we branched off the warehouse switch and I discovered it is NOT auto sensing and required adaption for cross-over. Still for the money it's a good deal.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent unit

Pros: Light weight, simple to install, worked out of box. Even though it is labeled a "desktop switch, I mounted it to the wall with the enclosed screws very easily.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what a growing home network needs

Pros: Does what it was meant to do.
Reliable and basically never needs to be restarted.
Very nice low-profile design.

Cons: Long and slim means that it doesn't fit where you might want it to, but if you need the ports, you should still get it.

Other Thoughts: My home basically gains a new computer every so often and our network couldn't keep up (we had ports in the walls but no connection to them thanks to a tiny and unreliable 8-port switch) This thing was perfect. Just plopped it in, plugged in some cables and presto - all ports are now wired.

It works.
I can't ask for more in an unmanaged switch.
Construction is nice and solid.
