5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Easy setup once you realize that you lose connection after changing default IP address in the setup software (see other thoughts below). Works with existing router. Nice looking package. Good Range.

Cons: Only has B and G...no N.

Other Thoughts: This Access Point (AP) has a default IP address of 192.168.0.227. I set my PC IP address to 192.168.0.210, opened the browser and entered AP address (192.168.0.227) in the header. To work with my router which has an IP address of 192.168.1.1 I had to change the default IP address of this unit from 192.168.0.227 to 192.168.1.227. The unit loses connection with the computer after applying these settings. Never fear, merely reset your PC network adapter from 192.168.0.210 to 192.168.1.210 and then reconnect with the AP. Set your WEP-2 security passwords and AP wireless name and then hookup to router. (my connection from the router to the AP is cat-5e). Then you're in business. I read that this AP can extend wirelessly, but I did not try this.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Router - Newegg SLOW shipping!!

Pros: Great product, newegg prices are competitive as any. User reviews on Newegg really help since most Neweggers are tech oriented and if there are tech issues with a product you see that before you buy

Cons: Newegg delivery used to be super fast. Now, 3 days after you order you get a DHL tracking number, then 7 days later, DHL hands the package off to --wait for it--THE POST OFFICE! Then, the mailman gets slowly around to bringing it. Total time order to box thru your door: 8 days. Newegg- you get a frowny face!

Other Thoughts: what can brown do for Newegg?

5 out of 5 eggsWorkhorse!

Pros: Stable, reliable, easy to configure.

Cons: Not 802.11n?

Other Thoughts: I have used a version 1 unit to create a neighborhood Wireless LAN for over 7 years. It just keeps going. I bought 2 more as back-ups. They were tested, set-up, put in storage, and have never been needed. The original unit is still driving an 8db external dipole. I can connect with a laptop's WiFi w/ internal antenna 125 meters away and saturate 802.11b @ 11.3 Mbps continuously.

3 out of 5 eggsNo good with my modem

Pros: Seems sturdy. Admin menu is decent.

Cons: It will not work with my Time Warner Cable wideband modem. The closest I came was setting it to 'client' mode in which case my modem saw the repeater and assigned an IP but it was not transmitting the signal to any of my devices.

5 out of 5 eggsCouldn't be happier.

Pros: This WAP is working flawlessly. Living in "fringe" of 3G coverage and no Wi-Fi the wife needed a better connection for her Kindle. This WG602 practically installed itself and is working great. She can get 4 to 5 bars on her Kindle anywhere in the house. Well worth the money and simple to install. ((It had to be pretty simple for me to get it to work the first time. Just follow the instructions.)) I have it connected to my wired router and cable modem.

Cons: Only had it for a short time but as of now I have no cons to mention at all.

Other Thoughts: Again, I thank Newegg for the good service and the very competitive prices. They have always come through.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy setup. Works great.

Pros: Bought this device to extend a small 16-device wired network to a handful of wireless devices. The AP came pre-configured on a static IP. Connected to it, configured it and voila: it was done. Signal strength in the small office was more than adequate.

Cons: I don't really have a con. I am pleased with this device.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: My grandmother needed a wireless AP to allow her to use her Apartment building's internet. We didn't need a router as all we needed was to give her existing internet wireless connections. Works great.

Cons: None. Cheaper than Best Buy by $40.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as intended

Pros: Using the reference manual, setup was a breeze. Followed the directions step by step, and at the end, everything worked as intended. Setup was fast and easy. The product recommends that the access point have line of sight with all wireless connections, but my setup has the AP behind many walls (on the same story). However, the signal strength and speed are still great.

Cons: This is my first WAP, so I don't even know if this is an issue. I have no idea how to access the configuration page for the access point through the browser. The only time I was able to access it was during the initial setup where the access point is directly connected to a PC via Ethernet cable. In order to get to the configuration page, the IP of the connected computer has to be changed to 192.168.0.210 or anything within the range of the default IP of the access point (192.168.0.227). After deploying the WAP, I've tried changing my static IP to 192.168.0.210, but trying to access the browser configuration does not work.
