5 out of 5 eggsProduct Listing

Pros: Good 8 port switch

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The product page on your website does need to be modified to show the item as a 8 port switch instead of 5 so customers like myself are not confused .

5 out of 5 eggsIt Works

Pros: Just plug in the ethernet patch cables, power it on, and it works very well. Only slightly warm to the touch. Comes with snap-on feet for vertical usage. Small footprint even when horizontal. Port activity lights are actually numbers so you can easily see which ports are active. Attractive looks are nice for a home office.

Cons: Port activity lights are very bright - not a big deal though.

Other Thoughts: Truly plug and play.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat switch for internet connection

Pros: low heat, no noise, easy to use, all ports can be uplinks. great to be used between ISP router, VPN gateways and firewalls. In the netgear switch we brought in last five years, there has no one failed at all.

Cons: can not be wall mount.

Other Thoughts: great indicator lights, very visible.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks alright, not terrible fast

Pros: Easy to set up, work okay, no problems with it.

Cons: It's ugly and it isn't very fast.

Other Thoughts: It's alright but a bit expensive. Don't get it if you don't like ugly things or need something really fast. I was going to get a D-Link switch but NewEgg stopped selling it.

5 out of 5 eggsClassy little device

Pros: It's attractive, small, and inexpensive (after rebate) and it just works.

Cons: It's rather light, so stiff/heavy cables may frustrate your attempts to position it just so. On the other hand, it's presumably no heavier than it needs to be in order to do its job.

Other Thoughts: If 8 ports of 100 Mb is all you need, look no further.

5 out of 5 eggsGood affordable replacement

Pros: Can't beat the price, especially with the rebate. Needed to replace old Netgear swtich that got hit during thunderstorm (granted it was 5+ years old, and only knocked out 4 of 8 ports). Good quality, reliable product at a great price!

Cons: none...works as promised

Other Thoughts: I liked the old style better, where the ports and indicator lights were on the front (rather than ports on back now) just made me have to re-route a bunch of stuff which was a pain.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Switch, Bad Brick

Pros: Fast, reliable, attractive, jumbo frame support.

Cons: AC adapter

Other Thoughts: After 18 months, switch began randomly rebooting, dropping ports to 100 mbps, etc. Based on another review here, swapped the AC adapter for one out of the junk box. That fixed the problem.

5 out of 5 eggsGot too much network stuff?

Pros: Got too much network stuff, and need more ports? I've never had any trouble with Netgear equipment. This unit is not exception, and does the job just fine. I have a small home network and was adding a Netgear NAS unit and a network printer. I just needed a few more ports. This unit does the job with flying colors.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Simple, easy, and does just what it's supposed to.
