1 out of 5 eggsNo Gig speeds off this card...

Pros: Not DOA.

Cons: No gigabit speeds when connected to my Netgear WNDR3700. None. 100Mb only.

Other Thoughts: Updated drivers using Netgear GA311 drivers and also Realtek latest 2013 drivers. Junk. Using Windows7 OS. Latest firmware on router. Still junk. Going to buy an Intel card.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfectly

Pros: It does exactly what a network card is supposed to do. I have road runner 30 Mbps connection and my speed test results come in at 31 Mbps.

Cons: I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with dual boot Ubuntu Linux and for some reason the software disk that it came with installed a Windows Vista 64 bit driver. It wasn't compatible to say the least and when I restarted my computer a window continued to pop up about 300 times so it wouldn't let me uninstall it. I ended up booting into linux and deleting the software and running windows update and it automatically installed the correct driver.

Other Thoughts: It still does it's job so I would buy another if I needed to. I would just skip the installation disk.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks, Win7 Pro

Pros: Installed in HP xw8400 workstation, with Windows 7 Pro. When I booted the PC back up after installation, the Netgear GA311 worked immediately. I didn't get any notice asking for a driver, or see any evidence of driver installation. It just worked, and is working as I write this. Most painless piece of hardware ever for me!!! All of my network hardware is Netgear, switches, firewall, and wireless. So far no complaints, the most solid networking gear I have owned.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsNETGEAR GA311

Pros: I have had this card for over a year now with no problems.
Replaced one of my gigabyte on board nic`s.one on board nic`s still works but I like to have 2 in case one goes.

Cons: No Cons!!!

Other Thoughts: Lots of people say they can not get it to work:
1. Go to your Bios and disable your on board card.
2. Delete all nic drivers use drive sweeper or equivelent.
3. Reboot computer.
4. Install new nic card being sure it is seated correctly.
5.Install driver from disk if needed.Go to web site and download new drivers if they have any.

This should solve most of your problems. Just because you built your own computer does not give you a Hi Tec Knowledge.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Card

Pros: Works with my old P4 2.66ghz built in 03. Wanted gigabit for transfers cause it still holds 6 HDDs. Now I can stream files round 25-30mbs on network instead of 8-10.
Drivers worked from the cd on XP pro. Quick service

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsIt runs well on my Windows XP

Pros: Replaced my motherboard integrated LAN when Intel LAN broke in Dell XPS machine several years ago. I run wired 100Mbps network to Netgear N-150 router. No problems once you install drivers correctly. I have it in PCI slot version 2.3. I have used the adapter for several years. It works so well, so I have forgot about it.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsI don't get why

Pros: I have successfully used this card and other Realtek 8169 based cards from TrendNET, Hawking, Startech, SIIG, and others with Fedora Linux versions 7 to 14, Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5, as well as Win XP and Server 2003. It doesn't even require installing any software for Linux or Mac OS X, it works out of the box.

Cons: None whatsoever, it works great.

Other Thoughts: All these people giving it one egg and saying it doesn't work have no business claiming high tech knowledge. Especially those who don't know how to go to the Realtek site to get driver software. That is of course only applicable to the Windows crowd, who are used to getting spoon fed and don't seem too good at figuring things out. That's second nature to Linux and Mac OS X users.
