2 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work well with Cisco PBX

Pros: POE, Robust, Good Value if you don't need a Cisco VoIP System

Cons: Simply could not get this thing to work with the Cisco UC320 Voip PBX. After doing outside research I learned that I am one of many who had the same problem due to a VLAN issue with the Netgear Switch. Stay away from this switch if you plan on using a Cisco PBX/Voip Phone solution for your network.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Decent switch, supports POE and VLAN

Cons: Configuration is tedious.

Other Thoughts: I read the review that said it won't work with VOIP phones with a data port. I have used it successfully that way for over a year now. Configuring it to do so was a pain, but it is working great now, data network is on a different VLAN than the phones.

1 out of 5 eggsCustomer non service

Pros: Price

Cons: Be mindful if you are buying this to use vlans. Do your homework this is not a 802.1q switch. The vlans are port based and as a result you cannot use them for voip phones that have data connections too, that use separate vlans on the same port.

Customer service to figure this our required two days of my time, battling horrid(1hr) hold times and a huge language barrier.

Other Thoughts: At first I thoughts "oh well" ill just turn this into a "dumb" switch, not use vlans and all will be well. Wrong the default port setting is to strip the vlan tag from the packet and this is not changeable. This cannot be turned into a dumb switch with the current firmware.
