4 out of 5 eggsGood little switch for the price I paid

Pros: Paid $22 for the switch so it's worth 4 stars. The gigabit ports seem to handle large file transfers well.

Cons: None at the moment

5 out of 5 eggsExactly What I Needed

Pros: I wanted an upgrade my entertainment systems and this unit fits the bill perfectly, and was lucky to catch it on sale, though it is worth the normal going price. There are other gigabit switches that are cheaper, though they may or may not work as as well or hold up as long, it is a matter of preference and if you think something is worth a few extra bucks. As an unmanaged switch, there's nothing to do but plug everything in and power it up. The QoS priority for the ports works well and has helped with streaming HD video where the other connections aren't competing for the extra bandwidth. The unit is cool running and the front facing lights aren't too bright.

Cons: None, works as advertised without any problems..

Other Thoughts: Well made unit with no vices. It is made of sturdy enough plastic rather than metal which doesn't have any real bearing on the quality or longevity as it is a "set it up and leave it alone" type of device. The cabinet is cleverly designed to provide airflow through the device without the vents being readily noticeable. So far no complaints, and the power cord was about 2 meters long which made positioning very easy. Like everything else these days that are made in China, the long term durability is always a potential issue.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as Advertised

Pros: Simple setup

Cons: Fixed QOS

Other Thoughts: The non-configurable QOS was not an issue with me, but it may be with some users; the fixed QOS was fine for my application as a switch for my entertainment system.

Other than that, the unit works seamlessly, and I highly recommend it for entertainment systems.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking splendidly

Pros: Got this as a Christmas present to work with my new Netgear WNDR3700. It's designed specifically for AV devices, but I'm really just running two PCs on it (one is a Mac Mini feeding my Apple TV). Haven't noticed any bottlenecks and latency seems low.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: It's awful shiny.

5 out of 5 eggsworks

Pros: Works without a hitch. I have this connected to a WDTV Live in the living room for streaming netflix, hulu and personal library (PS3 media server and shared folders). My Router is a WNDR3700, and
streams 1080 resolution dts videos from local network (Hardwired) with no problems.

Cons: None, works exactly as I planned it to.
