4 out of 5 eggsIt works.

Pros: I added larger antennas.

It has been on for 8 months and I haven't had to touch it.

Cons: The management software is pretty clumsy. But it is usable.

Other Thoughts: Solid router considering the price. I wouldn't hesitate suggesting it to friends or family.

1 out of 5 eggsNo-fi

Pros: was cheap, for a reason, since it does not work

Cons: will need to unplug every 15 minutes sometimes it lasts an hour or 2, I drop connection so often it was unacceptable, had only used it to connect to a pc by wire, after dropping another provider, we had 2, I started using the n network, the router is down stairs, well in just 24 hours I have reset at least 20 times before I swapped in my old router, seamless connection ever since.

Other Thoughts: will netgear take this back in trade for a working model, or is it just a stupid 30$ I spent, and will avoid the brand from here on out.

1 out of 5 eggsResetting this daily!

Pros: Good specs and cost.

Cons: Having to reset this daily. We have a new modem, our isp checked the line and modem and there are no problems. I updated the firmware and still having to reset it. I changed the channel on it, still having to reset it. Now I have to pay to return this and probably going to be without a router for a few days. If the replacement doesn't work, I am going to buy locally and request my money and shipping back. This router is defective and I am being penalized for recieving it.

Other Thoughts: I should have just bought locally to begin with if I have to pay to return this defective item.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy Netgear WNR1500

Pros: Drops WI-FI, do not buy this router.

Cons: This is an old and outdate router. Not worth the hassle.

1 out of 5 eggsIntermittant wirelessconnections

Pros: Small cheap

Cons: Drops wireless connection every few minutes. updated firmware and problem remains. wired ports seem to work ok but cant maintain wireless conections for any period of time.

Other Thoughts: noticed that when in the setup pages sometimes the system would freeze. even when using a wired connection. when this happened my wireless connections would be dropped and would need to be reset to get them to connect..

1 out of 5 eggsKeep dropping the connection

Pros: Looks good

Cons: It kept dropping wifi connection since the 1st day I own it and had to be rebooted several times everyday. I called Netgear customer service twice for help, but problem remained. I returned it in a week and switched back to my old Asus WL-520GU. I've never seen lost of connection again since then.

1 out of 5 eggsScrew Netgear To Hell

Pros: Works as an ethernet router

Cons: Does not work as a wireless router. Has to be hard reset (unplug and plug back in) every day or it cannot be connected to. Drops wifi connection in the middle of browsing. Netgear tech support is a nightmare. They will change one thing and make you wait a day. I had to contact them 4 times before they would finally admit that there was a problem with my router. They made me flash my bios 4 times even though I told them It had already been done by previous netgear technicians and that I had done it myself. They flat out ignored me when I stated what I had already done to troubleshoot. During one of the tech support sessions they turned off DoS protection and NAT filtering which left me vulnerable to attack and didn't warn me about it. Luckily as a computer engineer I knew enough to research the settings they had adjusted.

Product = Horrible
Support = Horrible

Never buy a netgear product. Netgear if you are reading this use another customer support company. The firm that you currently use treats people poorly and is making you look bad.
