3 out of 5 eggsToo slow, too inconsistent

Pros: fairly easy to set up

Cons: With an 'N600' access point, the best performance I was able to get on either band was ~35 Mbps.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems to work ok for xbox live

Pros: works for xbox live

Cons: pain to get connected to router hard to tell if it is syncing with just the lights blinking. Have had a few disconnects but may have been my old router. So far have not noticed any disconnects.

Other Thoughts: If you cant run cables then buy it and it will do the job.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Old Xbox 360 doesnt have wifi, nor does my receiver, so this little gadget saves me from having wires going all over my house

Cons: I haven't done any gaming marathons with it yet, so I will update if I have any issues down the road.

Other Thoughts: Got it on a shell shocker sale... definitely worth it!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat wireless and wired range extender

Pros: Easy to set up. Yo first connect a PC via ethernet cable to it to configure. Type in the address or the url and connect to the router. From that point on you configure it simply by following the direction on screen. Very easy. It actually found my SSID even though it was not broadcast. I disable SSID broadcast so I cannot use the WPS function.

Cons: Wish it would prompt for updating the firmware right away. It did that after I have configured my wireless network. After firmware upgrade I had to configure the wireless network again. Wish it would prompt me right away.

Other Thoughts: I have a wired Brother multifunction printer hooked up to one of the ports. It also boosted the link quality of my machine from 70% to nearly 100%. URL on my computer feels snappier. Get this thing!

Pros: Easy setup
Works fine all day long
I got my 2nd one at a dirt cheap price on New Egg

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm

Pros: Great little device if you've got several devices with ethernet ports gathered in one place. Speeds are pretty quick (about as fast as a wireless card) and the range of this receiver is excellent. Very easy to set up.

Cons: None.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: Claimed max data rate of 450 mbs, dual band, can link up to 4 co-located devices via ethernet cable to share wireless access via this adapter.

Cons: Actual performance was mediocre at best. Had difficulty obtaining wireless signal from D-Link DIR-605L 300mbs router located less than 75 feet from the N900 adapter on the same level of my house with nothing but drywall between the two devices. N900 repeatedly loses wireless signal and has to be manually reset. Does not seem to perform video streaming nearly as well as Iogear GWU627 150mbs adapter I had replaced with this N900 adapter.

It is conceivable that I am doing something wrong in setup that causes this mediocre performance. However, if so, I can't figure out what it could be. Setup is relatively simple with no user options available (to the best of my knowledge). You press a button on the N900 and then press a button on your router to allow the two devices to connect via the router's security protocol. The two devices seem to connect (I get an amber light on the N900 showing a low grade connection) and am able to connect to Netflix with my blu ray player and another On Demand video service with my Google TV media player.

However, I experience far more video buffering lag time than I did with my Iogear GWU627. Absent any other info I must assume this means a lower bandwidth connection between the N900 and my router than with the Iogear adapter. Overall, I am very disappointed in the performance of the N900 wireless adapter.

Other Thoughts: I REALLY wanted to like the N900. I was hoping to see a major improvement in video streaming with moving from a 150mbs max wireless adapter to an adapter that could use the full 300mbs capability of my existing router (and would support even faster throughput if/when I upgraded to a 450mbs router). I liked the idea of being able to connect up to four co-located devices to the adapter without having to use run them through a separate ethernet switch.

I had originally ordered the N900 in early December mistakenly reading the description as being a dual band 450mbs ROUTER. However, if it had achieved anything close to its rated capabilities, it still would have been a relatively good value. Unfortunately, at least in my case, its actual performance was actually worse than that of the 150mbs adapter I tried to replace with it. Given its poor performance, I ended up replacing it with a powerline adapter which is giving me very good video streaming performance.

Regrettably, given my experience with this device, I would recommend you consider other options to connect remote audio/video devices to your network (The Iogear GWU627 gave acceptable performance and two different powerline adapters I tried gave very good to exceptional performance). Hope this helps.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat adapter

Pros: Compact, dual band, easy to setup

Cons: Had to reset once to get my clients to connect.

Other Thoughts: This is a great adapter. I had been looking for a dual band one and this fit the bill. I use it to connect my surround sound receiver and my PS3 to offload the traffic to my 5.8 network. Streaming on both devices work well with no hiccups.
