1 out of 5 eggsRegretful purchase

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: It works on the 2.4ghz channel...

Cons: Unstable. Maintains a connection when using 2.4ghz channel, but once you go 5ghz, the adapter is frequent to lose its connection.
All my other devices work fine on both channels, but only the pcs that I bring this adapter to experience issues.
Tried updating the software but no luck. Contacted the support team and they have been less then thrilled to assist in a warranty replacement. Perhaps I bought a lemon, but I recommend you dodge this piece.

1 out of 5 eggsDrops connection all the time

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: ac1200

Cons: Not only do I have to unplug it when I boot my PC, then plug it in to get it to work (multiple software and driver updates/re-installs) it drops signal all the time. The dropping signal and resetting isn't nearly as annoying as unplugging and plugging the stick back in after windows boots 90% of the time

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Jason,

Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter. We feel bad knowing about your experience with it. Did this wireless adapter work before? Are you experiencing the same issue with your other wireless devices? Wireless settings on your WiFi router can also affect the performance of the wireless adapter. Allow us to look into this setback further, please send us an email at LinksysCares@linksys.com together with your contact details and the link to this post.

5 out of 5 eggsflawless

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: This works as advertised. This is meant for USB 3.0 and will have performance impacted on 2.0 which I'm assuming most of the bad reviewers were using. I've always had max speeds with low latency. Not once have I had dropped connections like I used to with NetGear.

Cons: none

1 out of 5 eggsSo Bad It Made Me Go Back To LAN!

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: -I has high bandwidth for a wireless usb device
-It sometimes works

Cons: -Rarely holds a stable connection
-Rarely holds a connection 3 feet from the router AC/B/G/N
-Overheats within an hour (after 3 RMAs) and becomes unstable
-Speeds vary but are usually on the low side unless you constantly remove and re-insert the device
-Software is very poorly designed and doesn't always work well

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: It's a decent wifi adapter

Cons: It drops signal with the driver that comes with it on the disk. However, once you update the driver you should have no problems.

A bit more pricy then similar products.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for providing us a product review. We are happy to know that you were able to update the driver of the adapter to stabilize the wireless connection. Should you need assistance with any Linksys device, you may email us anytime at LinksysCares@linksys.com so our team may provide solutions.

1 out of 5 eggsCan I give -5 star?

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Works very good as a paper weight. It has some blue LEDs makes my daughter giggle.

Cons: Does not work on windows 8.1 and that is all I used. I heard some people have success on windows 7, but I wont switch to windows 7 unless Linksys willing to pay for windows 7 licence. I tried multiple drivers as well and no luck. It works for a short time then disconnects and does not reconnect unless I restart the PC. I have a cell phone, tablet and a 2 laptops with 802.11ac connection and all works flawlessly. MY PC also works fine with other rosewill 802.11ac adapter or 802.11n adapters from asus and d-link.

Other Thoughts: Instead of buying this, donate the $50 to a good cause.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Suleyman S,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Linksys WUSB6300 wireless USB adapter. Our apologies for the inconvenience you have experienced in using the device. The adapter should work with Windows 8.1 when used with the latest driver version. Please download and use the Windows 8.1 driver available on our product download page:

5 out of 5 eggsStability at last..

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Stable
Fast
Simple install
Simple driver update

Cons: none I have found.

Other Thoughts: Replaced a Belkin F5D8055 with this. Was having all kinds of issues with the old Belkin. Totally unstable speeds from 140Mbps if I was lucky down to 6.5Mbps, around 50 to 6.5Mbps much of the time. Basically became unusable. Had a hard time even watching a youtube vid.
The Linksys WUSB6300 is highly stable, speed sits at provider max all the time..
A snap to install, updated to newest Driver from Linksys web site. Solid as a rock imo.
All my issues have disappeared...
I bought it as a refurbished unit for considerable discount.

using in a 2.4GHz "N" setup.

Works for me..

1 out of 5 eggsslow, poorly designed, and extremely expensive

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: It does work with 2.4 and 5.2 networks, albeit slowly, and it does fit in a standard USB drive.

Cons: Unfortunately, I bought this device before learning online that it is slow, poorly designed, and extremely expensive compared to ANY other product on the market. (I now have a generic device from Newegg that is tiny, twice the speed and performance, and less than half the cost.) I bought it from another retailer, and SADLY did not get the extended warranty. (Always get the extended warranty.) I currently have 9 days to go on the Lyncsys warranty, which allows refunds and returns for up to 90 days. Except Linksys/Belkin won't honor it. I heard various explanations for this--they had to ask the purchasing retailer and *they* said no, there isn't a warranty unless I bought it directly from Lyncsys/Belkin, all they can do is replace it. They are replacing the slow, poorly designed, and extremely expensive device with another slow, poorly designed, and extremely expensive device, and that is their response to my request that they actually do what they promised.

I've had probably 10 Lyncsys or Belkin products in the past, which all worked very well. I don't know why this one is an aberration, or if my customer service experience is an aberration. I will soon have a new, in-box Lyncsys WUSB6300, which I won't use, and a deeply dissatisfying and disheartening opinion of Lyncsys and Belkin as businesses, which I will use to guide my future purchases.

Almost any other such device on the market will give better performance, and probably come from a company that stands behind their products
