3 out of 5 eggsFinally figured it out. Read for suggestions.

Pros: Price (19.99) Speed

Cons: Set up not as should be expected. No individual LAN led's.

Other Thoughts: This router def. has issues but I have found solutions. After setting up all my forwarding under Port Forwarding none of my ports were forwarding. Spent half the day messing with other settings trying to figure this out .Turns out you have to use Virtual Server in order to forward ports. As soon as I did this all my ports were now being forwarded. I am not familiar with how Virtual Server would work so all I can say is it seems that the sections may have been mislabeled?

I was also experiencing the wireless dropping out every couple hours. This I fixed by switching to TKIP only and Mixed G and N only. Wireless has been strong for 24hrs now.

Some have said you have to save after every change. This is misleading. You have to save any changes made to one section before moving to another which is no problem. It also allows you to either reboot router either after the save or later after you are finished. No big deal.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad for $20

Pros: Gigabit wired for $20...and free shipping. Has worked fine so far... upgraded firmware.Run 3 andriods and 2 iphones off wifi with no dropped signal. Have my gaming computer hard gigbit wired. Fast shipping for me... I ordered on a fri and it was at my home mon night.

Cons: Poor signal strength. Not very far range. Most changes to settings require a reboot. Which is annoying. Says it's open source, but isn't.

Other Thoughts: I only use the wifi for my moblie devices. Havent gamed or streamed hd over wifi. But for what i use it for, hard wired gigabit gaming and mobile wifi. Havent had any problems. this maybe better as a AP for most. I dont know the longivity of the router. Only time will tell. But at $20 free shipping. If it breaks tomorrow I got my moneys worth.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Upgrade

Pros: Gigabit, Usb, SD, Shareport software

Cons: No open WRT support: proprietary share port software/ hardware. Blue led are kind of bright at night

Other Thoughts: Immediately upgraded firmware: beta. I did not use the wizard, manually set up all parameters. Installed shareport software on all my computers. Sharing a usb printer. No problems so far.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible product

Pros: Cheap, N, and gigabit. would work OK as a switch.

Cons: Wireless doesn't really work, from day one it was dropping out regularly. now it wouldst drop the connection, i could see clearly that my wireless device was still seeing the connection but it would drop access to the internet. It would do it to all devices at the same time.

I reserved IP addresses for all devices and made multiple other changes to get this thing working a little better but it still isn't worth the hassle. It will make a tech savvy user frustrated. The range is mediocre as well.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the time or the 20$ i paid for it.

1 out of 5 eggsUseless

Pros: Was cheap so I didn't lose much on it. $20

Cons: It'll work for a few hours or days if you're lucky. Drops signal, and terrible at DNS lookups. Worst of all, it HAS to restart everytime a setting is changed. I mean everytime. Seriously. To answer your question, no, it is not worth $20. I wouldn't pay any amount for it.

Other Thoughts: I tried it with stock firmware and it was aweful. I upgraded the firmware and it still sucked. I turned off the QoS service that it was boasting about and it got a little bit better. I wouldn't suggest this to my worst enemy.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price was $20.
Stable as a second AP.

Cons: Had to update firmware needed to be updated just to set the time/date to 2013.
Weak single.
Limited configuration options on stock firmware.
D-Link claims it has Open-WRT support but Open-WRT does not officially support the CPU.
If you want to use Open-WRT you must download a modified Open-WRT source tar from D-Link and compile it yourself.

Other Thoughts: I got this to add a second AP/switch so turned just about everything off.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Experience ever.

Pros: It was $20... Uh yeah that's about it.

Cons: Firmware is garbage and those extra feature serverly hinder its reliability. Turned EVERY extra off and still having issues. Although in advanced Wireless turning off "short GI" has improved reliability for wireless devices tremendously. But still not a great router for any price above $20.

Other Thoughts: Was gonna replace my DGL-4500 with since the 4500 is starting to go... but so far it looks like it will be put back into service and last until I can get a proper replacement as this stop gap just was awful.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Router EVER!

Pros: Looks Elegant
Is Packaged Well

Cons: Doesn't work with my ISP (Time Warner)
Terrible First Time Setup
Takes 70 seconds to reboot almost every time you change a setting, 20 seconds minimum.
Not even better than my old Linksys E2000 with Tomato Firmware.

Other Thoughts: I got this on sale for $20. It's the worst router I've ever attempted to use. I'm actually a tech writer, and I'd have to say that just using this router (or attempting to use it) for about 5 minutes, made me angry. So I'd hate to see what a normal, non-techy person would actually do when they can't even get connected to the Internet after first time setup. I've tested multiple D-Link routers, this had to be the worst I've ever used.
