5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: I replaced an DAP-1522 with this unit. To date I have had zero issues. Extremely easy to setup and works seamlessly with the DIR-868L that I am using.

Cons: some mention the led lights are too bright, I just turned it so it doesn't shine directly at me, no issue.

1 out of 5 eggsOutdated DAP-1525

Pros: Simple to setup. I actually bought two of these (for a benjamin) to set one as AP another as Bridge. Setup as bridge is pretty easy if you have WPS aware wireless as this model.

Cons: Outdated wireless router. What p.ss me off is that this is not a/b/g/n router as advertised here. And this thing not dual bands. You have to pick one band, 2.4Ghz or 5GHz.. 5Ghz band is weak not even cover a small home. No parental control to block sites. What a waste. Most routers, even echeapo, has parental control. Very disappointed. I will not buy dlink again. I give it one star for being a lame wireless router that expected anyone to pay a suggested retail price.

Other Thoughts: I should have read detail spec at manufacture site before buying this thing.

5 out of 5 eggsdoing its job perfectly

Pros: wow this thing is great! my router was in my main house. I ive in the house we have in the back. ran 100 feet of cat 6 from my router to this device now I have wifi for all my devices. install and setup was a breeze maybe 10 min after running the cat 6.

Cons: none.. I cant believe it either, works as advertised.

Other Thoughts: if you need wifi In another location and don't want to use range extenders this is for you.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't Work; Hard to Configure

Pros: None. I can't think of anything good to say about this piece of equipement

Cons: I went through configuration nightmare that is mentioned in several reviews and in the press. Once it was up an running it was completely unreliable and worse it would lock up the switch that it was connected to after a 3-4 hours. I reset it a bunch of times. Upgraded the firmware. I was even going to downgrade the firmware but the thing won't even reset to factory anymore. Its about 3 days old and maybe worked a total of 6 hours. I spent at least 3 hours just trying to get/keep it working. It was a nightmare!

Other Thoughts: DON'T BUY THIS!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Push button configuration with my DIR-655, seems to maintain a connection from day-to-day unlike the DAP-1522 that it replaced.

Cons: There's a weird glitch when you select the Wireless Settings page in the setup... you see it flash up all the settings momentarily, then see only a minimal set of options. This prevents you from making any changes to the wireless settings, but maybe that's due to the push-button configuration.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't bother

Pros: Sigh. Good idea? Like the design. Can act as a bridge or WAP. That's about it, barely worth two stars for that.

Cons: Where do I begin? It's supposed to be a range extender, but at 10 ft from it I barely get a 'good' signal. That's no walls between, just me 10 feet away. Right now, it's about half as far from me as the main AP is, but I am connecting to the main AP! This morning (it does this regularly) it decides it does not want to WPS to the main AP and I have to go through the whole re-paring bit, complete with dragging it into the back bedroom and all the button pressing and sprinkling with pixie dust to get it to work again. I give up. I am in the market again for another AP.

Other Thoughts: If Dlink had delivered what they wrote on the box they would have something. But it's too weak, too finicky, oh-and did I mention that the instructions are just about worthless? Sorry Dlink, nix the WPS and call it a basic AP for really small apartments and you would have something there...

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad, so far.

Pros: I found the setup to be fairly straightforward. The quickstart guide tells you the pre-set IP address and login information. (Would have been better if this were simply placed on the bottom of the AP itself.) Once logged in it was quick and painless to configure all the settings. (My use is strictly as a 5 GHz N AP.) I plan on mostly using this in one small area, so range is not much of an issue.

In a quick impromptu test I copied a Wave file from my gigabit network drive through this access point. With my old router I would max out at 2 MBps. This unit seems to average 11 MBps (megaBytes, not bits). That's fairly close to wired Fast Ethernet speed.

Cons: The only con I can think of is price, but if it lasts as long as my old router and performs this well all the time I'll be pleased. Crossing my fingers.

Other Thoughts: I spent days trying to find a replacement router for my old WRT-54G that would be the cream of the crop. Any time I got close to finding something it was shot down with one shortcoming or another, whether it be lack of features, restrictions or reliability.

I finally just decided to get a simple access point. This is the only one I found that not only sounded promising but also has the perfect feature set for me. It pairs with my old router perfectly.
