5 out of 5 eggsPerfect solution

Pros: Put 2 computers and a security DVR on it. Works perfect.

Cons: Not really a con but good advice.
Never mix brands on a WiFi network. you might get away with it but also might not. A lot of weird things can happen ..I have a WiFi network with 30 devices and found out mixing brands can lead to quirky things ...I am all D-Link now and ALL the mysterious STUFF has stopped.

Other Thoughts: Good TO GO ON A..DIR-655

2 out of 5 eggsWorked fine until it died

Pros: Dual band, easy enough to set up, seemed to work well (though it's always hard to be sure with wireless products)

Cons: No antennas. IIRC has to be switched on again if power goes off - no auto restart.

Other Thoughts: Just died after a few months. D-Link customer service is completely unresponsive.

4 out of 5 eggsGood AP

Pros: 4 port switch, both 2.4ghz and 5ghz support. All the features of the router lines and familiar setup interface.

Cons: No status LEDs for each ethernet connection. 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands use separate config files. Newegg was out of stock/discontinued when I purchased, had to go with another vendor.

My only beef with it is that it has a switch on the back to select what mode to run in (2.4 ghz ap, 5 ghz ap, bridge), and that it maintains separate configurations for each selection. For me the 5ghz with my cell phones was great, but the new tablet only supported 2.4ghz, so I flipped the switch and lost all wireless connections to it. I logged into it and all the settings where default. Flipping the switch back restored the settings I had in it.

Other Thoughts: I bought this access point to expand my wireless network in my house. I decided to setup it up to go only wireless 'N' so not to degrade my speeds. I left my wireless router to handle the B/G connections. I have also set it up to use the 5 ghz to limit its range outside my house and to prevent the B/G router from messing with it. I have been using it for months and have had no issues with it. Since it is connected to the network via ethernet, and has a 4 port switch, I use it on my tv cabinet to provide ethernet to my xbox and roku as well.

1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arrival

Pros: None

Cons: Plugged it in and power button and signal indicator came on green then hit reset button. The power button turned red and is completely unresponsive.
No where in the manual or on D-link website does it say anything about a red power indicator on front panel.
Back it goes.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks pretty sleek and for my TiVo it's fast.

Cons: Refuses to work with any of my Apple or Sony products. Only device I have gotten to work with it is a TiVo.

Also Support. This product barely exists according to d-link which is crazy for a top of the line bridge. If you check their support page for this product it claims to have a forum but that doesn't exist and if you try and email them it gives you no options for issues and no phone number. Judging from this I have no desire to talk to someone on the phone (there is a number in the manual) who will have no more information then me. At least that would be my guess based on the fact you can barely get the manual online.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this product. D-links firmware is horribly complex and only slightly better then the DAP-1522 which I have had to go back to using. If linksys ever upgrades their network bridge to 450 speeds I will probably be going with that.
