3 out of 5 eggsNot a bad card

Pros: It does it's job well when you ask it to.

Cons: You have to ask it to do it's job. Every time you boot up, you have to reconnect to the network where with most cards it automatically connects (from my experience anyway) even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. Same story.

Other Thoughts: Good for it's price. If you don't mind asking it how it's day is going, buy it.

1 out of 5 eggsVery misleading

Pros: Installs easy

Cons: Unfortunately can only hit 802.11n speeds when paired with the TEW-639GR router. Yes, they mention it, but one would expect this to just be marketing jargon to sell more routers. I don't really consider this 802.11n if it doesn't pair with 802.11n routers.

Directly from TRENDnet:
"The TEW-632PI Wireless N PCI adapter is compatible with your... router, but it will only connect at 802.11g speeds (54Mbps). For 802.11n speeds (300Mbps) you can purchase this adapter with our TEW-639GR Wireless N Router...

Unfortunately the TEW-623PI is not dual band, it only operates on the 2.4Ghz frequency spectrum. We do have the TEW-664UB, which is a Wireless N Dual Band USB Adapter. You can find this product on our website under 300Mbps Wireless N Dualband products."

Other Thoughts: Yes, every description for this adapter reads the exact same, but nowhere does it say that it WON'T work with another n-router. This proved I was wrong. I don't want someone else to be similarly misled.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat until it died

Pros: Fast, simple, worked as advertised with default windows wireless drivers, no bloated software suite needed. This was an awesome replacement for my unreliable lan adapter.

Cons: Antennas were very cheap and flimsy, don't hold together very well. Device ceased working in less than a year.

Other Thoughts: Only 10 months of operation until it gave out about a week ago and is no longer detected by the machine. This is a shame because it was a very good redundant connection in my server computer which I have no physical access to right now, and need a constant internet route to in the event of the wired network failing.

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible Signal

Pros: It still works if you're in the same room as the router

Cons: You basically have to be in the same room as the router to get a signal with this thing. All of my other wireless devices (laptop, iphone, ipad, playstation) can get a good+ signal from anywhere in my house (~1300 sqft). This thing gets a weak and or inconsistent signal in one room over.

I've resorted to using a shared connection with my work laptop inorder to get my desktop on the internet.

1 out of 5 eggsWish I'd Read Reviews First

Pros: Easy to install...and that's it!

Cons: Worked well for nine mths or so then connections were spotty at best. Guess I should have been grateful for that since four months ago it completely stopped working. Will never buy this brand again!

4 out of 5 eggsNo problems here

Pros: Runs pretty smooth and at decent speeds. The 3 antennas make for picking up a fairly strong signal even from the far end of the house. I believe in the whole time I've had it, it only dropped the signal maybe once or twice. Decent card for not a lot of $$

Cons: The first time I installed it no matter what I would do it would not auto connect to my preferred network on start up. I'd have to manually do so, which isn't a big deal just a tiny nitpick. When I performed a recovery not too long ago that issue seemed to correct itself.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Initial setup was quick & painless, combo'd with a trendnet wireless router all was well.

Cons: built a new pc and installed the card, nothing but frustration due to super slow download speeds. tested with a trendnet usb wireless adapter and download speeds were fine. tew-623 left a bad taste after initially performing so well

1 out of 5 eggsSpotty Signal

Pros: This NIC gives you an occasional connection to the internet.

Cons: This NIC gives you an occasional connection to the internet. I have been using the Wifi Analyzer app for Android and I don't have many connections around me--but I make sure I am connected to a channel only my router is on. Typically my connection is -67 dBm (2/5 on the Microsoft wifi notification icon).

Other Thoughts: I have been developing an app to monitor network traffic and the connection to my router. The data I receive from this NIC typically shows a 30/100 on signal strength. I end up moving my desktop computer/ the three antennas around until I see the signal strength go to 70/100. Its frustrating when the connection is spotty and I cannot recommend this product. In two different locations I've lived at it has never quite worked at the level I expected.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for a while....

Pros: Wireless card, gets you connected

Cons: Owned this since 2010, never ever was able to connect at the advertised speed of up to 300mbs, always held steady at 130mbs (I'm using an Airport Extreme that sends out an N signal, should be getting higher mbs).

Over last 3-4 months, download speeds have basically come to a crawl. Speedtest.net shows this card topping out at 2.5Mpbs while my laptop, with an integrated wireless N card, downloads at 30Mbps. My laptop also connects at 200 and higher mbs to the Airport.

Very disappointed, thought this card would last me forever. Now I'm searching for a new one.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall A decent card for the money.

Pros: This is a fair wireless N card for the money. With the 3 antennas that come with the card, it is great at picking up signals. This card fits into a PCI slot and takes up very little room.

Cons: The only problem that I see with this card is that it drops my network connection often. I have to manually reconnect my network after every restart every power on and sometimes after quiting an online game. I think that this problem is with the install software that comes with the card.

Other Thoughts: I rated this card at 4 eggs due to the connection issues that I am having with it.
