1 out of 5 eggsFast with a flaw

Pros: -Really good speed for the price (Mostly)
-Dual-band, let me choose the band that worked best
-Easy to install

Cons: -Something about lots of concurrent connections causes this adapter to freak out.
-Websites with lots of images invariably causes pics to only partially download.
-Valve's Steam became unable to maintain a download
Support is unresponsive.
-I sent in a support request and they've not replied even after 7 days.

Other Thoughts: Since I still had my G-Speed PCI adapter still in my box (but disabled), I disabled the trendnet and re-enabled the G and suddenly everything that was broken was working again.
I didn't get this adapter for its speed on the internet, my G easily outpaces my ADSL, but I was looking for a faster means of backing up my data files to my home server on my network.

1 out of 5 eggsShort life

Pros: It works as the description.

Cons: It does not last long. I only used it for less than two months

Other Thoughts: I have asked for a replacement, and I hope this replacement could last for more than a year. I will add in my review if the replacement can function properly.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice stable dual band wireless adapter.

Cons: Had some issues with it taking a few minutes to automatically connect to my 5 ghz network... fixed it by removing my 2.4 ghz network password from Windows 7 profile. Works perfectly now.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty in Pink

Pros: 8yr old daughter loves it! Bought for her.

Cons: Easy installation. Watch your cable routing around the LARGE side fan.
The plastic CD drop down doors are cheaply made/flimsy

Other Thoughts: The case is nice overall and well ventilated with five fans and cool design (LEDs) but cheap parts on front takes 1 egg away

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Adapter

Pros: I have a large house, and running this Trendnet adapter on a Netgear router from opposite sides of the house gives me 450Mbps almost no matter what I do. Installation was simple, gives you the option of just drivers or their propietary app (I just went with the drivers). Good sold throughput everywhere in my house. Cable is standard USB to micro-USB, so easily and cheaply replaced (via Newegg, of course) in case your puppy chews it up . . .

Cons: If Windows 8 is already installed, you have to use the disk that comes with it to install drivers. If you're doing a fresh install, Windows 8 will install a driver . . . who cares, eh? And with such a great adapter, the result is a pleasure either way!

Other Thoughts: if you're looking for an adapter that will give you a solid connection to your router and great throughput all over your house, this is the best I've found. If you're limited to a 300Mbps router, the Rosewill twin antenna adapter performs like this one, and is about the same price. But for 450Mbps, this is an AMAZING adapter, especially for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome WiFi Client Adapter

Pros: Got this on discount at Newegg, almost a steal of a price. Works great to add high speed 2.4 or 5 Ghz connectivity to my laptop or desktop. The ability to connect on 5 Ghz is important for me. The drivers work great on Windows 7 x64, but I did not test Windows 8. The speed and range are superior to my internal 2.4 Ghz (only) laptop WiFi.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Neat looking package, with cool indicator light. People wonder what it is and ask me. Funny.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome little adapter

Pros: First off kudos to the poster with the detailed instructions on how to get it working on Ubuntu your post is what made me take the plunge and buy it. That said their is a catch I believe it should work well on all 32bit editions with all kernels.

*If however you have a 64 bit edition like I do it is another story. I am on Linux Mint 13 64-bit based on Ubuntu LTS 12.04. I was running the latest kernel 3.9rc1 and while it would connect it was highly unstable and caused almost instant system freezes and kernel panics I also tried kernels 3.8.2 and 3.6.11 with the same dismal results. After searching the internet I discovered that many 64 bit users were reporting similar problems but I also saw it reported that it was extremely fast &stable on kernel 3.3.4 and after reverting to that kernel I can confirm that it works and is both fast & stable.

Works with linux* (see above),Stable connection,Gave a real nice bump in signal strength,Great coverage,Good link speed

Cons: As others have already posted I wish the cable was about a foot or two longer

Other Thoughts: My D-Link DWA-160 Rev A which served me very well for nine years started acting very flaky, posting lots of connection errors and was frequently disconnecting. Based on what I've sseen so far this was definetly an upgrade and if this TEW-684UB lasts half as long I'll be pretty happy. I'm also optimistic that the Linux wireless developers will get the driver for this adapter in the linux kernel for both 32/64 bit versions relatively soon.
