5 out of 5 eggs5Ghz and works out of the box on Linux

Pros: - Great value; I bought mine on sale for $23.99
- Works greats; I just plugged it in my computer and it worked. Recognized by the OS out of the box. Never drops a connection. Sees more neighborhood 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks than any other devices I own (with built-in wifi).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Is running under Linux mint 17.3.

5 out of 5 eggsA Great Wi-Fi Adapter If You Have Dual Band Wi-Fi

Pros: Easy Installation, Good Software

2 out of 5 eggsI really cannot recommend this.

Pros: -Looks cool coming out the back of the case I guess.

Cons: -If you are not within 5 feet of your router you will not have a good connection and if your that close just use a cable.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy, I gave it a chance. Don't be like me.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with the N600 Wireless Dual Band PCIe Adapter, TEW-726EC. If it is only able to detect a wireless signal from a few feet away it most likely is an antenna issue. Please ensure the antennas are properly and securely attached. You can also try changing the wireless channel in use on your wireless router or access point to see if that improves the signal. If you continue to experience this issue please email me at adrian@trendnet.com and we will have a support representative assist you with warranty services. Please include a link to this review.

Adrian

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for 1+ years

Pros: Coming from a history of solely wired desktops, this adapter is better than expected. My desktop performs the same as when it was wired with Cat5e.
4/5 signal strength going through one floor of my 1,050 sqft home. Owned for almost 2 weeks and has not dropped a connection once (to my knowledge).

Cons: None.
Edit: 1 year and 8 months later, this card started giving me trouble. Speed was spotty and connections would randomly drop for 1 second. Sometimes I would have to disable/enable my wireless connection in WIndows to get it to work again. 15 mins ago I installed an Asus PCE-AC68 card and my speeds are now maxed out. Keeping this review at 5 eggs because I was very happy with this card for the price and the length of time it lasted. But, don't expect it to last forever.

3 out of 5 eggsGet what you pay for...

Pros: Bought it for the 5ghz and it was an easy install and works out of box on windows 10 pro 64bit.

Cons: Weak Antenna, my router is less than 7ft away sometimes its running 40Mbps on speedtest.net and sometimes 8 or 10Mbps
My old wireless g card got a steady 26Mbps and my ethernet gets 90Mbps

Other Thoughts: I tried using the drivers on the cd and no improvement
If it doesnt fix in a couple days im returning it and just gonna run the wires for less hassle
and will drop the 3 egg to 1 egg

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with the TEW-726EC. If you have not done so already, try using a different channel and see if get a more stable connection. Your wireless access point/router defines your wireless network parameters. Please also ensure that the antennas are securely seated to the adapter and that they are not near anything that may cause radio frequency interference.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Very easy install and easy setup. Price was great as well!

Cons: Not really a con so I will put my thoughts below...

Other Thoughts: This little unit has worked great for over a year now. No hassle setting up or installing. One thing I noticed is that it can be somewhat sensitive to receiving wireless signal. It never drops or has issues like that but if my set my computer on my desk it gets full strength. Move it to the floor and I lose 2 bars. Even though there is nothing obstructing the signal besides the computer being 2 feet lower. Not a con and not a big deal but maybe something to watch or think about...Overall. it's worth the money and doesn't take up any USB ports
