1 out of 5 eggsDont Waste your Money

This review is from: TRENDnet TEW-751DR N600 Dual Band Wireless Router IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u

Pros: none

Cons: very slow router signal very weak keeps dropping signal took over 2 hours to install which should have taken 20 mints or less went back to my netgear router which works flawless gave trendnet a shoot and it let me down

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

We are sorry to hear that you had an issue with the installation of the TEW-751DR. The router is pre-configured for your convenience. At most, you may need to configure the WAN port. The default setting is for DHCP which is common for most ISPs. Typically this only requires a reboot of your modem to clear any previous DHCP lease. If you would like assistance with the installation please email Adrian@trendnet.com and we will have someone assist you as soon as possible. Please include a link to this review.

Adrian

5 out of 5 eggsGreat For The Price!

This review is from: TRENDnet TEW-751DR N600 Dual Band Wireless Router IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u

Pros: I needed a new router. An originally $80 router for $20. Hard to pass up trying it. I expect it to last a year.

Cons: Had some initial issues getting it to work. Got Trendnet support to help out and between us communication, the router is working.

Other Thoughts: As above, can't beat the price for this type router.

4 out of 5 eggsTrendnet TEW-751DR N600

This review is from: TRENDnet TEW-751DR N600 Dual Band Wireless Router IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u

Pros: Replaced router from Optimum. It works well. The TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 which people complained about. It was registering 36 - 49 Mbps via speakeasy.net. My internet speed is officially 50 Mbps. You needed to set the wireless to 20hmz/40hmz. My son said the 5G was only 5Mbps slower than the Optimum. That would be 50Mbps vs. 45 Mbps. The wifi connection signal doesn't fluctuate, unlike the Optimum router that was provided to me. My Dell 1520 Vostro only downloads at a speed of 16 - 18 Mbps. I will need to find a replacement USB Wifi card.

Cons: I have not played with it enough. For $20 it is an excellent solution.

5 out of 5 eggsVery powerful router

This review is from: TRENDnet TEW-751DR N600 Dual Band Wireless Router IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u

Pros: This router cured my wireless issues. I have had other routers and they did not have the ability to reach to the other end of my house from my computer room downstairs. This solved my issue. Easy setup and great bandwidth with many options.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have purchased other routers in the past to solve this issue. I have purchased a wireless extender, and powerline adapters. None of them worked as good as this router. This router seems to work as I had expected and I haven't had any issues with it yet.

3 out of 5 eggsBuying your loaf o bread

This review is from: TRENDnet TEW-751DR N600 Dual Band Wireless Router IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u

Pros: Price
5Ghz

IT DOES NOT MAKE BREAD WITH HEAT LIKE MY OLD LINKSYS

It sometimes gets 5Ghz right

Cons: 5Ghz not being as strong as the 2.4Ghz option

Quality of Service is a joke and or non-existent

Should be $30

This technology needs to stop being sold next to G standard equipment, because the price goes up as stock goes down of the old stuff, it becomes harder to find so it's more expensive again. This makes new stuff worth more money on their site or they can charge more.

Other Thoughts: I got it for 5Ghz, but kept it because of its reliability

Old router got 300kbps regularly, I get the upper 100mbps+ of the median now so 600+ of my mbps is more regularly routed to me!

I was an old Netgear fan that had only bad experiences with Linksys and I enjoy this router; it could be better but isn't bad.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat router in every way

This review is from: TRENDnet TEW-751DR N600 Dual Band Wireless Router IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u

Pros: Ease of use, security, customizability, dual band, guest zone, power button, broadcast power.

Cons: No gig ethernet. Not really a con, just another feature you can pay more for if you want, or not if you don't.

Other Thoughts: The two big things for me about this router are the lack of a default password and the power button. There is no reason for me to be broadcasting my wireless network all day while I'm at work and all night while I'm sleeping, and I like the lessened power consumption. With no one default password for this model (you have to read the default password on the sticker that comes on the device, or in the paperwork), this router is more secure right out of the box.

I'm currently using this router in my basement and typing on my main office computer on the other side of the house on the main floor. The wireless signal is set to 25%, and I've had zero drops.
