Extend Your Wireless Range by up to 1.5 miles

Works with wireless 802.11 b/g

Easy Installation - no configuration required

The HAO14SDP Hi-Gain 14 dBi Outdoor Directional Antenna Kit is a heavy duty, weather proof, high powered antenna for extending the range of your existing wireless 802.11 b or 802.11g WiFi devices. Whether your application requires extending a wireless signal from on building to another or simply from one end of the house to another end, the Hi-Gain 14dBi is the perfect solution. The power rating of WiFi antennas is measured in terms of decibels (dBi). The HAO14SDP boots the antenna power of standard antennas from a minimal 2dBi to a staggering 14dBi. The Hi-Gain Directional technology concentrates your wireless signal directly towards the wireless source from your network. This results in a significantly increased in wireless distance. When paired with another Hi-Gain 14dBi antenna, you may extend your distance by up to 1.5 miles

Installation of the HAO9SDP is simple. It is compatible with most wireless devices (access points, routers, bridges, and network adapters) on the market with removable antennas. The Hawking antenna comes equipped with N-Type, RP-SMA and RP-TNC connectors to support a wide range of Wireless device. Note: An outdoor low loss antenna cable (Hawking Model# HNC10N or HNC30N) is required for outdoor installation and must be purchased separately. Depending on your set up, a shorter cable is recommended for minimal cable loss due to cable length.

5 out of 5 eggsRock solid, powerful antenna

Pros: Used to create a wireless bridge to my grandmothers's house. One of these on each end, pointed toward each other, connected to standard, off the shelf routers. Distance is about 300 feet going through 2 houses. To save the cost and hassle of an outdoor installation, I made some wood brackets to hold the antennas and put them next to the routers indoors. Minimum 50% signal strength, usually around 80%

This setup was installed 4+ years ago and is still going strong. We only lost connectivity once and that was during a very severe lightning storm.

Cons: None to speak of, but keep in mind these are DIRECTIONAL antennas. In the setup listed above, if one the antennas gets 20-30 degrees off plane, signal strength drops dramtically

Other Thoughts: I can only imaging what these puppies could do in a clear line of sight with high-powered routers/APs

5 out of 5 eggsStands the test of time

Pros: I have had a few of these mounted and working for over 4 years. The perform flawlessly, and while slightly discolored, have withstood at least two hurricanes, and feet of snow.

Cons: None at all

1 out of 5 eggsVery good product

Pros: sturdy, very good signal reception, hi quality materials for mounting on a mast, small enough to resist wind exposure

Cons: none at this time

Other Thoughts: I purchased one this spring to allow access from my shop to my home internet connection. It could see the router in my house....about 700 feet away, and worked well for basic internet, but at times the signal would drop to around 1Mb/s..I Just installed another one of these to a router in my house, an old buffalo whr-hp-g54, dedicated to this network connection. I used 2 30' hawking coax cables connected together to reach the tower (which is a lot of feet of cable considering the signal loss per foot). Both antennas are mounted about 20 feet above ground level, and they have a direct line of sight. The internet really flies in my shop with 5 bars....54Mb per second. By the way, this is wireless G antenna so dont expect to connect N equipment to it.

5 out of 5 eggswifi junky dream come true

Pros: This is a great antenna by itself well design sturdy no lost of signal strength

Cons: Wire is really short so had to buy a 7 foot add on

Other Thoughts: I then to mod things and this was a fun item to work with i used it as a focal point for the spare satellite dish we had in the backyard. After mounting it I got ranges up to 11mile i should make a youtube video and show more proof with google map. But in no way should you buy this product and think you can great that range without voiding something its just a hobby of mine i just thought it would be cool to share the it

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Easy to install. Good range.

Cons: Had to pay $30 for a longer cable...

Other Thoughts: Gained 1000 feet within thirty degree angle on horizontal for less than $150 total. If everything was this easy, life would be a breeze wouldn't it?

5 out of 5 eggsIts Okay - Does the job.

Pros: I didn't use it for outdoor I simply use it for indoor and pointed at the direction I needed wi fi. It did the job I mean I got 4 bars in area that I got 1 previously. However, I was hoping to see a little more distances.

The current location with my set up is in line of sight - I have nothing blocking it because its pointed the antenna facing my balcony sliding door (which is glass) and even through I get better reception in area where I wasn't but, it was only 50 feet away from this antenna. any more than 50 feet I notice the speed would drop significantly - not sure is the 30 feet cable making it weaker.

Cons: none really it increase wi fi - just don't expect too much.

5 out of 5 eggsHawking HAO14SDP

Pros: I am able to get the maximun signal at my shop which is 200 feet away. I used this with the Hawking low loss 30 foot long extention cable and am very pleased. The antenna even came with a lightning arrestor. The quality of everything has exceeded my expectations, and when buying wireless products in the future, I will look for the Hawking brand.

Cons: None I have found.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid internet connection finally

Pros: I was hardly receiving any connection to my neighbors router using my wpn311 rangemax from about 250 feet or so away. Most of the time the connection dropped, couldn't see anything on the wizard, attached this antenna with extension I mounted it toward the router inside, now 4 bars. No slow/connection drops anymore great product

Cons: none

3 out of 5 eggsGood...but not great

Pros: If you point it in exactly the right direction and have a clear line of sight this can get 15-25% better signal than a multi-directional antenna.

Cons: Comes with a very short connecting cable. Embarrassingly short. Requires the purchase of an extension cable if you need more than the 1.5 feet to your device.

Other Thoughts: Did not work out very well for my experience. I live several hundred yards from work's wireless network and this antenna could not even see that network through a few trees and houses. It did allow me to get better signal on a different network I could see but not connect to reliably with my previous multi-directional 7 dbi antenna, but the improvement does not seem worth the cost. I probably would have preferred a high dbi multi-directional for about the same cost as this unit.
