2 out of 5 eggsTerrible

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N250UBE - Wireless N300 Wi-Fi Adapter - IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (2T2R), Up to 300 Mbps Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface, Two 5 dBi High Power Detachable Antenna

Pros: Works fine after you're actually able to install the driver

Cons: It took about an hour to install this driver. The disc they give you is outdated so I had to download the driver from their website and install it via USB. Even after you finally get the installation screen it took maybe 5 tries to finally get it to work.
Would not suggest buying

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N250UBE - Wireless N300 Wi-Fi Adapter - IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (2T2R), Up to 300 Mbps Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface, Two 5 dBi High Power Detachable Antenna

Pros: None

Cons: Drivers from Rosewill caused it to disconnect every five minutes. Downloaded drivers from their site and had even more issues. I would say it arrived defective.

Other Thoughts: Downloaded Realtek's drivers and gained some stability. Still had significantly reduced bandwidth from my PCI express card and continued to have connection stability problems. This is the second Rosewill product I have had issues with.

2 out of 5 eggsEasy to setup, but drops connection...

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N250UBE - Wireless N300 Wi-Fi Adapter - IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (2T2R), Up to 300 Mbps Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface, Two 5 dBi High Power Detachable Antenna

Pros: Literally just plugged it in after setting up windows 10 and it immediately listed available networks. Has a good signal when it's not being dropped.

Cons: Randomly drops connection every so often. If you're downloading something large, you may have to plan on babysitting it to make sure it doesn't disconnect indefinitely. When this happens, the only way to regain signal is by unplugging the USB and connecting it again. Maybe I got a faulty one, but just beware...

Other Thoughts: Cheap, good signal, but two stars for it not keeping a reliable connection.

3 out of 5 eggsDied

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N250UBE - Wireless N300 Wi-Fi Adapter - IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (2T2R), Up to 300 Mbps Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface, Two 5 dBi High Power Detachable Antenna

Pros: Worked better than laptop's internal wifi, detachable external antennas.

Cons: Died after three months use.

Other Thoughts: Bought on sale from Newegg for $14.99

3 out of 5 eggsnot so good

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N250UBE - Wireless N300 Wi-Fi Adapter - IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (2T2R), Up to 300 Mbps Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface, Two 5 dBi High Power Detachable Antenna

Pros: +works right out of the box
+does the job however with some problems (read cons)

Cons: -clunky software. completely useless, don't bother installing just use windows.
- after some a few hours of use i don't know why yet but the throughput will go down significantly. I have to physically disconnect the adapter and reconnect to restore its speed (i've noticed usually after computer comes back from standby)
- feels very cheap. the connection between the card and the stand is wobbly and loose.
- antennas not that powerful

Other Thoughts: Hey it was like $15 so I wasn't expecting much anyway. However this unit does do the job and connects to my router fine in most cases. I can also game with it, doesn't chop the connection between the router.

2 out of 5 eggsFragile

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N250UBE - Wireless N300 Wi-Fi Adapter - IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (2T2R), Up to 300 Mbps Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface, Two 5 dBi High Power Detachable Antenna

Pros: It worked out of the box on Ubuntu without installing any drivers.

It allowed me to use the Internet when my laptop's WiFi antenna cords had been severed, which was great.

Cons: The unit is fragile due to its design.

The core is a WiFi card with two antenna ports and a USB connector. You plug the card's USB connector into the included USB stand to keep the antennas (as well as the WiFi card itself) upright. This means that the USB connector must handle the strain of any swaying, moving of the stand, antenna adjustments, and accidental knock-overs.

After a few months of use, the repeated stresses caused the WiFi card's case to come apart at the seams. Superglue fixed that.

After a few more months of use, the repeated stresses caused the USB connector to loosen from the WiFi card's circuit board. Jiggling it around until the connector contacted the board fixed that.

After a few more months, the USB connector was completely disconnected from the circuit board, and no amount of jiggling fixed it.

1 out of 5 eggsLossy setup software

This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N250UBE - Wireless N300 Wi-Fi Adapter - IEEE 802.11b/11g/11n, (2T2R), Up to 300 Mbps Data Rates, USB 2.0 Interface, Two 5 dBi High Power Detachable Antenna

Pros: Cheap and had mostly good reviews.

Cons: The setup software was glitchy, hung up a lot. After setup it keep dropping the signal. My older adapter didn't.
