4 out of 5 eggsgood when it works

Pros: good when it worked. then it started to randomly disconnect.. I think it overheats as I use it for desktop pc that is connected to my TV for streaming overseas TV stations.

Cons: a little big but if you use it on desktop it wouldn't matter

5 out of 5 eggsworking so far

Pros: small
cheap
works great

Cons: none ... so far

Other Thoughts: I installed the included driver, and that did *NOT* work at all. it worked AFTER I uninstalled the driver. so, if you're having problems, don't use the included driver/software.

overall, I like it. it's really small and compact. and it works well for me.

highly recommended

4 out of 5 eggsGood on PC, Mac, and Hackintosh

Pros: - It work on Windows and Mac and Hackintosh

Cons: Pretty week signal though... 3 bars in same room unless you are 3ft from the access point.

Other Thoughts: Good for hackintosh... that's it.

4 out of 5 eggsUPDATE

Pros: This is an update to my first review. I uninstalled EnGenius driver and installed RALINK one (for Windows.) 7 feet away from the router I now get full 150mbps, so this device is worth 4 eggs.

Cons: Very short range, but for such a miniature device that's expected. It didn't look that small on a picture though.

Gets HOT. Not sure how long it will last.

3 out of 5 eggsOK

Pros: Price, size, ralink chipset.

Cons: Driver is bad. I downloaded it (and the utility) from their website. It only connects at G speed (54mbps). Router is configured with wpa2+aes. If I disable b+g on my router, it won't connect at all. My laptop is 7 feet away from the router.
My built-in card with ancient Broadcom chipset connects at 72/65 mbps just fine. My wife's laptop with Atheros chipset connects at full 150, and hers is 40 feet away from the router.
The best tech support guy could say was "that's odd ..."

Other Thoughts: In Linux with ralink firmware, this thing connects at 90-120mbps. Not 150, but still a lot better than with native driver, hence 3 eggs; would be 0 otherwise.

5 out of 5 eggs[Update]

Pros: Compact. Works decently within range.

Cons: Short range.

Other Thoughts: [Update] Since I can't edit reviews please discard the review below. I gave this a 5 star rating to offset the one I gave earlier out of frustration.

The item works fairly well as long as you are within range of 0-30 ft. I could barely get webpages to load in the room I wanted, so I had to move my desktop setup to another room. This problem seems to happen with other usb adapters. However, given its size, this adapter does what it is supposed to. I will be switching to a proper wireless pci card, but for those with a setup near a wifi hotspot, the eub9707 will be more than adequate.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work well at all

Pros: Compact

Cons: Used it for a desktop, and the connection is terrible. My setup is in the furthest room from the router, and I am able to pick up not even a 1/10 of the connection speed my laptops wireless card can in the same room. Tried messing with the settings on the software that came with it with little to no improvement in the signal.

Other Thoughts: It maybe just for my setup that it is giving so much trouble, but I would not recommend this product.

5 out of 5 eggsUp and running in 10 minutes

Pros: Neat, small, signal strength very good and consistent. Low Price.

Cons: No way to store cap, so it will get lost (not a biggie, not enough to lose a star.

Other Thoughts: Using it on a desktop, so it will remain plugged in. Installed only the drivers when asked, not the EnGenius management software. XP Pro SP3 system. Replaced a PCI network card that was failing.

1 out of 5 eggsVery flaky

Pros: Small I guess?

Cons: Extremely flaky. I have this installed on a PowerMac OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) and it NEVER stays connected. Anytime you want to access the web you literally have to reopen the EnGenius Wireless Utility and double click the profile to reconnect or click the connect button on the site survey page. Even then it only stays connected for a short while even though the link status shows a high link quality and signal strength. The profile never stays activated either.

I just want to install/config one time and stay connected, but this isn't possible.

Overall the firmware/GUI/documentation for the Mac is junk, look elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: P.S. - In the time I typed this review and hit submit I lost my connection and had to reconnect!
