Built with the Realtek 8139 chipset series, the ENL832-TX-RENT is a fast Ethernet card that operates at 10/100 Mbps. It is compliant with PCI version 2.0/2.1 and it is known for reliability and superior performance. It's capable of operating at high speeds of up to 100 Mbps. 5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price!

Pros: Used this PCI adapter in an old 500mhz Celeron for a long time, as a "download" pc. Drivers installed fine. Worked great.

Cons: 10/100mbps, but for any casual user or someone with an older box in need of ethernet, it's great.

5 out of 5 eggsAlways Detecting

Pros: customizable so that you can work around potential problems with your other components. my router and my modem don't have the best of friendships, but I will know right away when the connection is lost and when it's regained...just like any other adapter, so why not?

Cons: blah

1 out of 5 eggsDriver problems

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Most people liked this card, but after I had problems, I looked over the bad reviews and saw that many people had the same problem as I did: loading the card into XP. Maybe a bios problem (old MB), but haven't been able to verify. I had an old VIA NIC that I tried and XP auto-loaded it without a driver disk (obviously PlugandPlay). Still trying to get the card to work.

Other Thoughts: I bought (at the same time) an Encore wireless network card. Same thing. XP doesn't recognize new hardware. As mentioned above, the old VIA NIC and an old Cr**tive modem card both auto-loaded (no driver disk required).

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Drivers are relatively worthless. Wouldn't install correctly. I'm not even sure if the card itself was working or not.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the driver hassle.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: In case you have a reason to, you can put it in your computer and have ethernet.

Cons: There's no real reason to have a card for ethernet if you have a mobo with it built-in.

Other Thoughts: A PCI bus is slower than a direct connection.
