1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY FOR WIN 7

Pros: NONE

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace my old Azio bluetooth adapter and was looking forward to having a Bluetooth 4.0 adapter. Simply put, this adapter does not work with its CSR Harmony driver. I have 3 bluetooth headphones and none of them would pair up to my computer. Absolute waste of my time. If you google CSR Harmony Bluetooth Driver Windows 7 64 Bit you will get a whole list of people having problems from years ago till now. Guess I will just use my old adapter. Sigh.

1 out of 5 eggsehhh....

Pros: Could connect to audio device(ie phone, tablet)

Cons: Sketchy transmission, only really worked within 5 ft and the adapter couldn't be on the back side of computer or else it would loose connection and even when it was on the front it still lost connection consistently.

3 out of 5 eggsWasted Purchase

Pros: -Range
-Great for quickly transferring files from one device to the other

Cons: -Windows 7 x64 default drivers don't work
-You must use the disc that comes with it for Win 7
-The speed is slow
-Aggravating that you have to confirm every transfer (Bluetooth issue really)

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these to see how I'd use them in a day-to-day basis. In the end I rarely use it and feel like I could've spent my money better elsewhere. The dongle works exactly as it should but the Bluetooth standard makes it not worth messing with.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: - Very small
- Uses standard reference CSR Harmony drivers with no aftermarket modifications
- Has connected every device I've tried (Nexus 7 2012, Nexus 7 2013, Moto X, 2 keyboards)
- Can set profiles and names for each device.
- Good range (see Other below for details)
- Blinking LED when powered.

Cons: - Will not restart Bluetooth driver interface when device it hot-plugged. If I move the adapter, the Bluetooth icon disappears until I reboot.
- CSR drivers have little documentation as to what all the terms mean.
- Must set a profile for a tablet first, before you can "connect" after pairing. Not documented.
- Not a real user friendly install. It's not "guided" to show you how to keep the adapter powered when the PC is in standby, or how to go about pairing something. "Not for noobs".

Other Thoughts: Originally, the range on the adapter was awful. Even with my whole house WiFi turned off to eliminate interference, the range was pitiful at 6-8 feet. This was too short for HTPC use.

On a friend's whim, I plugged in the adapter to a 6 foot USB extension cable and moved it away from the PC chassis. Now, the range is close to the advertised 30 feet!

In short, for keyboards and mice <3 feet away, there should be no problems. For using this at extended range, the USB extension cable did the trick.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job without issues

Pros: Came with disc (CSR Harmony), works well, minimal dropouts. I'm using it to play music from a Dell tower to a Jambox about six feet away.

Cons: CSR Harmony takes a little time to get acquainted with, but that was not a problem for me.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat, except...

Pros: Works brilliantly with CSR Harmony

Cons: CSR Harmony crashes Windows Explorer

Other Thoughts: Windows 7 has an awful Bluetooth stack implementation, and the only seemingly "good" alternative Bluetooth stack out there seemed to be CSR Harmony, from my research. The trouble is, it requires a CSR-based chipset/dongle.

WIth Harmony installed, this thing worked like a charm. I could use a Bluetooth headset without any cut-outs whatsoever. However, I found whenever I had to log in to a network share, Windows Explorer consistently crashed, due to a bug in CSR's software.

If you're not like me, and you don't use your computer on a network that requires 802.1x authentication (or use SMB shares regularly) then this is absolutely an excellent choice. But be wary of Harmony if you do any of the above mentioned. Without it, Windoze BT stack becomes default and the adapter is rendered mostly useless.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product

Pros: No observed or fatal problems in use.

Cons: Range seems limited, but there are some environmental factors maybe affecting it; wifi over 2.4 GHz is packed with other routers in my building.

Other Thoughts: Documentation is sparse, but I just downloaded the drivers from Azio's site and it seemed to register in Windows (7) after that.

In motion signal would sometimes cut out for a brief moment, resulting in reception lag in my BT headphones. This was only seen when approaching its range limits, like walking around a room/apt with a device aired to my desktop with the unit.

1 out of 5 eggsDid Not Work

Pros: the drivers were easy to use once i figured out how to use them (which took me a solid 4 hours).

Cons: does not work at all.

Other Thoughts: recently i have bought a dual shock 4 expecting to play some games on my pc. as i didn't wan't to play on a cable, as no cable was long enough i would have to buy a blue-tooth adapter (this one right here).
after installing the drivers, and after figuring out how to work the system, i would connect my ds4 to the adapter via bluetooth.
the problem? won't connect.
it initially detects the controller as expected but it says "pairing started" and stays there for about 3 - 4 minutes. then goes to the "could not pair" screen.
yes it is set to discovery mode
yes the controller is on
and yes i have re-installed the drivers and got the same result.
as a customer to this product, i am very disappointed that i can now no longer game using a controller on a rig that i spent $3000 on.
so for that, one egg.
