5 out of 5 eggsAwesome phone

Pros: The phone is adaptable to just about every SIP function out there and offers even more customization if you feel like getting into your own XML. We have about 10 of these phones with other grandstream GXP's on a 3CX PBX which works wonderfully, especially given 3CX auto-provisions them with no hassle what so ever. The display is crisp and the backlight works well. Voice quality is phenomenal and it supports many codecs. The speakerphone sounds good, it is full and rich and does not resonate or distort. The handset feels nice and solid.

Cons: The early firmwares aren't very impressive, the later ones significantly improve function and appearance. Grandstream seems to have changed their update server URL different from what the phone ships pre-configured with. Upon changing the URL the phone updates as it should and works great.

The cable routing provisions aren't the greatest and the coiled handset cord could stand to have slightly longer straight sections. As it ships the handset cable has a tendency to interfere with the phone sitting on a desk until the cable starts to relax. Very, very minor annoyance, so much that I really don't fault it

Other Thoughts: Unbeatable feature set for the price
