5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Works well in windows 7.

Worked out of the box in linux.

Cons: It doesn't make me coffee in the morning.

Other Thoughts: Purchased as a replacement, for a broken usb adapter. Came with free usb cradle bundled.

I can't comment on the effective range or signal strength. The pc is located near two wifi routers.

1 out of 5 eggsDOES NOT WORK WITH WINDOWS 8

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: It's Cheap, no signal problems

Cons: TP-Link's software for this thing absolutely sucks. I had to spend 8 hours one weekend figuring out why my computer kept getting blue screens and was able to trace it to its terrible windows 8 software compatibility which even after updating off their website still screws with the whole computer. I had to take out a lot of swearing in this review to post it so hopefully you can comprehend my frustration with this product. This isn't an uncommon problem either. Research it.

5 out of 5 eggsSUPER durable

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Extremely durable. I've knocked, kicked, and spilled on this device more times than I can count over the three years I've had it. It's been bent well past the point you would think it would be useless (more than 45 degrees). It's got teeth marks from my puppy chewing on it. The internal prongs have detached from the USB tip and after carefully aligning and replacing those pins, worked like a champ.

Consistent. I've never had any problems with download speeds etc. fluctuating that I thought were because of the device.

Cheap. For the price of 14.99$ or whatever, you simply can't go wrong with this.

Cons: Would be nice to have drivers installed as soon as it plugs in as opposed to the CD I think it comes with. I could be wrong about the CD though I've had this thing for like 3 years.

Other Thoughts: For the price this is a great wireless adapter. Easy to use and can take some SERIOUS abuse.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Small, looks good. If and when it connects to the router it has good signal and performs.

Cons: Worst product I ever bought on Newegg. The drivers on this product are messed up. Install the driver they give you in the box or download the driver from there website, either way this product does not work correctly. I don't recommend. Running Windows 7.

5 out of 5 eggsBig Bang for the Buck

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: The old adage: "You get what you pay for" does not apply to this device. After looking at the price I just assumed that its download speeds would be average. But the speeds I am getting from this device are much higher than I got from my old workhorse: a Link Sys PCI card that cost four times as much.

Cons: It doesn't wash the car or the dishes.

Other Thoughts: I think I am now a TP Link fan.

3 out of 5 eggsTL-722N

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: It's certainly faster than the nondescript dongle/adapter I inherited from my parents.

Cons: 1. Constantly disconnects at random, and almost certainly when downloading files or watching videos.

2. Not completely sure the adapter is causing it (But I sure as hell didn't experience this before getting this adapter), but my computer occasionally freezes up, the netservices portion of the svchost.exe service freezing up, requiring a full restart to restore internet, audio, and all related services to that svchost.exe instance.

Other Thoughts: It's either a choice between my old adapter, which is extremely slow but a reliable connection, or this one, which is faster, but has an extremely unreliable connection.

I oftentimes switch adapters when I need to do certain things, which can be annoying. I have tried updating the driver, plugging the adapter into a USB 3.0 port, and using the chipset manufacturer's drivers, all to no avail.

Not really sure where to proceed from here on...

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than I thought it would be

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: For the price this little adapter is actually really good. It's easy to use and since it can plug in directly, or into the dock, you have a lot of options of where to put it for the best connectivity.

Cons: The only con is that since it's USB, it will occasionally act crazy. Even then I just unplug it and plug it back in and it's fine.

4 out of 5 eggsI'm now a fan of TP-Link

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: 3 year Warranty.

Cons: Range could be a little better, but for the size it's great.
