1 out of 5 eggsnot poe standards compliant

Pros: can't think of a single pro

Cons: This kit does not conform to poe standards to the injector and splitter will not work with any other injector or splitter or a poe switch. They need to be used as a set and a set only. Very foolish design and I wish the product description would have said so. Deserves zero eggs. Newegg is partially at fault here as well for the description.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

We're sorry for any inconvenience that this product may have caused you. You are correct as it's not recommended to pair the devices to any other PoE source. TL-POE200 Power over Ethernet Kit is not compliant with IEEE 802.3af standard. The TL-POE200A (PoE Injector) and TL-POE200B (PoE Splitter) can only be operated together. Pairing the devices with any other PoE adapter is dangerous. If you are looking to use a Splitter or Injector individually, then you may want to take a look at our other PoE devices like the TL-POE10R and TL-POE150S.

We thank you for taking the time to try and review our products.

Best Regards!

5 out of 5 eggsVery flexible

Pros: I am very happy with this. The price was great. Got mine for $29. See it is now $36. would say it is still a good deal. Seems to preforms very well. 3 voltage selections make it very flexible. Seen other comment about the power pig-tail being a strange size. I have not found this to be the case. It was the right barrel connector the 2 routers I have used it with. One being a Rosewill RNX-GX4 running @ 9V. The other the ALFA R36 running @ 12v.

Cons: Really don't have any at this time.

Other Thoughts: Have not gone over 75 FT yet so can not verify the 328 FT limit. The injector and the slitter seem like they may get warm. I am not saying that this a problem. It is just something I will keep an eye on it this summer when it may get installed in outdoor enclose. As I use it under different condition will try to come back and update review.

5 out of 5 eggsbest for I.P. cams!

Pros: Ive been doing I.P. camera installs for years, and if your using Foscam PTZs {or similar type} 5volt , these things are AWSOME! they are very LOW HEAT, and the "splitter" end is small enough to fit in a 4x4x2 box,and still have room to put the wires and plug from your camera in=) Perfect!
They hold up very well too. {ive never had one fail }

Cons: the tip that comes with the "SPLITTER "end , doesnt fit ANY I.P. camera ive ever seen. {no biggy tho} Just cut the tip from the power supply that comes with your I.P. CAMERA, and use it instead.
wish they made pre-made power tips for different brands of i.p. cameras =)

Other Thoughts: Ive heard some complain that they dont get much range with these, but i can personally tell you that i have done 500ft + runs with these ,put my meter on it,not lost even 1 millivolt ! =) it comes down to the quality of the Lan cable your using.
i recommend SEWELL CAT5E cable. no loss of signal ,even at 1000ft !
{we tested it at our shop just to see if it would work- and it did just fine)
if you use CHEAP Lan cable, you get bad signal.
the quality of you lan plugs makes a difference as well.
{i use "BELKIN R6G088-R-10 RJ45 Plugs"- they hold up, and the "slots" inside that the wires go in ,are divided well -the wires dont "slip" into the other rows -a perfect crimp every time!- that, and they are CLEAR- not "semi-clear,or "frosted clear",like the "cheap stuff"

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of Time

Pros: Newegg.

Cons: NOT enough voltage for 200ft. For what it does overpriced and bulky. Excess packaging.

Other Thoughts: Claims to transmit "power & data over an Ethernet cable up to 100m(328 feet) away". Any cat5e cable is rated to transmit data at that length already. Power/voltage needs to be increased, which this does not provide! 100ft or less may work, just as with any $5 Chinese PoE kits which are actually better all around. +1 China

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it needs to

Pros: They're cheaper than some of the alternative PoE injectors and yet still do what they need to do.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Coupled this with an EnGenius EAP350 access point with no troubles and saved some $$$ since I didn't need to buy the more expensive EnGenius PoE injector.
