5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: small works

Cons: I always get confused when I try to remember which end the power comes out. one is labeled "network" the other "AP". would be nice if one just said +48V on it.

Other Thoughts: I have 3 of them driving Vivotek cameras. been working flawlessly for 3+ years now.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: I was looking for a power injector, and was familiar with the Engenius name. SOME of their injectors (like with their WAPs) are a custom format that won't work with all devices. However, this one DID work with the surveillance cameras that required PoE. It is nice looking with good packaging and has worked for me when needed. It is everything I'd expect from a ower injector. Note that a power transformer 48vdc supply is included (it isn't built into the unit)... but that can be a good thing as well if you want to extend low voltage to the device remote and don't want a nearby power outlet.

Cons: none that I can think of. Wall mount brackets would be nice... not really needed with a PoE injector though.

Other Thoughts: Engenius is well known for quality telephone wireless products. Their data line has worked great for me and is much less inexpensive than the phones! I've also been really happy with their wireless routers and commercial access points.

2 out of 5 eggsPower Supply Issues

Pros: Works great with Engenius's older ES18U48-P1J power supplies.

Cons: Will not pass data more then a few days with provided PA1-1024-4DU power supplies.

Other Thoughts: Engenius support was terrible until I demanded to speak with a manger who put me in touch with someone that had a clue. Engenius recently changed their 48v ES18U48-P1J power supplies with newer faulty PA1-1024-4DU power supplies. Despite being past warranty they replaced all our power supplies and resolving our issue.

1 out of 5 eggs4 month life span w/ 90 day warranty

Pros: Price was nice.

Cons: Won't pass thru data, only power. Cheap feel, loose board/parts inside the unit.

Lasted less then four months, just outside of the 90 day warranty. Tech Support has very long hold times and was passed around for about an hour. Level 2 tech support finally said go buy another one.

Other Thoughts: Any POE injector that is 802.3af compliant will work in place of this model. The EnGenius AP's I have looked at are not proprietary POE. Also found out this model is only 10/100, not gig pass-thru.

Next POE injector will not be EnGenius.

4 out of 5 eggsYep, it works.

Pros: POE Injector that works.. I set up a DLink WAP that I put in the attic of a restaurant where running 110V wasn't really possible. It did the trick, and seems to be working fine.

Cons: It wasn't free or included with the WAP?
