1 out of 5 eggsDon't Waste Your Time

Pros: None

Cons: Purchased new, returned for repairs within 2 weeks. Sony sent me a new one because the part needed to repair was not available at the time. the 2nd one lasted little over 1 week and just wouldn't turn on. Don't waste your time like I did, this product is junk.

4 out of 5 eggsI hate to give this four eggs, but...

Pros: Okay, basically everything about this tablet is a pro. The camera is excellent, the processor is fast, it doesn't have many bugs, the screen looks really nice, it has an IR remote and GPS, playstation market mobile is coming out soon (Sony product exclusive; I think it just came out?), and overall just a nice quality Sony product.

A huge pro for me also is that this has an SD card slot, NOT micro SD. You can go from micro SD to SD but not vice versa. There are currently 128 gig SD card sticks out and sony just added functionality for these hyper capacity cards (go sony!).

The back is aluminum metal and looks sleek (aside from horrid plastic component, which I go over under cons)

I got this for 349.99 and I feel like it was a really, really good deal. Pretty much the best deal if you want a quality product.

(tip: this tablet is on sale for 349.99 all over the place, I wouldn't pay the full price for it. I believe it's still on sale for 349 on the Sony website.)

Cons: I wrote a lot of cons but I'm (kind of?) nitpicking. Even with all these cons, this product is still 4-5 egg quality. That should tell you how good everything else is.

The fold over flap on the back is plastic, and it is clipped to the metal in a cheap way and on my product it was actually unclipped on the side with the SD card. Moreover that plastic just feels really flimsy and like it isn't really attached. My thoughts when I saw that was 1. I'll just get some super glue and glue it down, and 2. Well I bought the Sony case so it doesn't really matter right?

But the Sony case is kind of a disaster to be honest. I got it on sale for 50 dollars and I STILL wouldn't recommend it at that price.

The keys do not press down, you cannot feel them on the mat and they are very small so its impossible to type quickly on it. I type at 100-130 words per minute and I find myself sitting there pecking at the keys like my grandfather. The case does not fold so that you can simply hold it and use it in the case without using the keyboard.. basically it HAS to be in the stand/laptop style position for it to work at all. If you try to just hold it with the keyboard slightly bent (there is no other option, you cannot fold it back or anything like with the ipad case), then it bugs the hell out and the keyboard connects/disconnects randomly because it is designed to turn the keyboard on in stand position and off when not in stand position, but apparently they did a really poor job on that design.

Another con, this tablet has no Micro USB port whatsoever. This is the biggest con for the actual tablet itself I feel. You have to buy adapters from Sony and that just feels like bad business practice. All tablets should come with mouse/keyboard support and at least 1 micro USB port.

Yet another con, this is still running on Ice Cream Sandwich. I don't know why Sony hasn't released Jelly Bean yet but I hear they are kind of slow on the updates. Also, their version of Ice Cream Sandwich is sub-par I feel when compared to pure Android. It seems slower and slightly cluttered but it really isn't that bad.

Other Thoughts: The guy who said the on screen keyboard has a 2 second delay obviously has a defective product as I have not experienced anything of the sort.

I recommend this product over pretty much any of the competitors honestly. The ASUS transformer is pretty nice but they have legendarily awful customer support and a couple of their tablets have pretty significant issues. I feel like this product beats everything from a technical spec point of view (aside from the lack of micro USB port..) when you are also considering price, unless you want some niche feature like the galaxy note wacom pen digitizer, etc. Also, all those tablets are ugly plastic =(

For in depth comparison / analysis of tablets, smartphones, android and everything of this sort I would highly recommend you watch MobileTechReviews videos on youtube.

5 out of 5 eggsvery nice tablet

Pros: Very well built, eveything works fine. Its comfotable to hold thanks to that weird fold over thing. Also it has an expansion bay whereas more hyped-up tablets like the nexus do not.

Cons: The keyboard that pops up to type lags behind about 2 seconds from you touch a text area. Just a little getting used to I guess. I have never used a tablet before so I dont know if that is typical or not.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this tablet to others. Its big but not too big. The screen size is nice because I can type easily and see what im writing.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Tablet

Pros: Feels well built, SD card slot, runs great, screen looks great, sound is good. Runs every game I've thrown at it so far, and did i mention the sd card slot? ;)

Cons: Not as "in-style" as the asus/samsung units you see floating around everywhere (They feel cheaply made to me, not sure why they are so popular). Lower resolution than the other big tablets. (movies still look great though.) Sony isn't the fastest with new updates, but they do take care of bug fixes.

Other Thoughts: I think most of the negative reviews you see on other sites are from samsung/asus owners that just like to put other brands down. Or from people that bought it right at release and didn't wait for the bugs to be cleaned out.

The Samsung Galaxy note was my first choice until I got my hands on one, it was almost scary how flimsy the body was. Asus tf300 and tf 700 felt descent, but have way too many complaints on quality control for me to feel comfortable in buying one. It cvame down to this and the kindle fire HD 8.9. If they would allow android market on the kindle, I might have possibly went that route, they have awesome customer service. But with the android market already lacking in tabletapps, i didn't want to go with a tablet that limits that selection even more. I like the body design of the Sony, I don't feel as though it could slip out of my hands as easily as the other smooth bodied models. (I drove to a handful of stores finding each model of new tablet on display so i could test them out for myself).

The galaxy note was really nice, i was just too worried about it breaking, you could actually see the case and screen flex with very little pressure applied to it. (and it's the most expensive of the android tablets).

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: lightweight, slim device, fast Ice Cream Sandwich, has GPS (many spec sheets fail to list this). infra red tv control works well. I prefer this tablet to any iPad as it has SD memory card cslot.

Cons: screen seems bright but may be hard to read by pool,
