1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy.

Pros: Does what it says it will do for a month or two.

Cons: Wireless connection broke entirely in a month.
Poor battery.
Heavy and bulky. The charger itself is a brick.
Extremely cheap casing. Bends to any pressure and hits internal components. Rattles and shifts from day 1.
Cooling sucks. Burns from running Firefox.
Trackpad is over sensitive. Just by pressing down, the cursor shifts so far over that you miss what you're clicking on. If you're typing and you don't arch your left wrist you'll accidentally trigger the touchpad. They really couldn't just shift the trackpad over a bit more...
1.5 years in and the power button stops working. Graphics card starts failing intermittently.
This is basically a desktop for any practical use without the performance capabilities.

Other Thoughts: Repair services are extremely slow and expensive. They cant even ship to a specified customer name and instead enforce that the credit card name is it. Took me 3 weeks to get a diagnosis saying they can't diagnose it without 800$ to replace the "video board". What part of the computer being completely unresponsive to powering on has to do with the graphics card? 130$ for useless diagnosis and repair estimate of over 1k$. Goodbye Toshiba. Never again.

2 out of 5 eggsLove the performance but...

Pros: The screen resolution is what caught my eye first. Everything is very clear and sharp. It can play almost all the games I have maxed out. It boots up fast and shuts down fast, it does pretty much anything fast. I love the red back lit keyboard and how you can either have come on when you type or you can press FN-Z and have it stay on all the time. The speakers sound very good as well, I was playing Amnesia the Dark Descent and I realized it sounded better than my last laptop with headphones on. I love the fact that this laptop comes with 16 GB of RAM, i7 Intel processor, and 2 TB of hard drive space. I've never had a computer than came anywhere near the specs of this laptop and the performance to me is wild, I love how I can pretty much do anything. The 3D looks really good and even the goofy glasses it comes with don't look bad at all.

Cons: So the reason I'm giving the Qosmio X875-7390 is not because of performance, but because of a few small things that turned out to be big things. First off, the computer runs hot. I mean burn your hand if you leave it in front of the vent hot. It doesn't help that the vent is on the right side of the laptop, exactly where your hand will be if you're using a mouse. Second, I had multiple issues with the laptop suddenly freezing or the screen going black. There was one time where i had to actually take the battery out because I couldn't get it to shut off, and the second time I ended up leaving it on until the battery died. I couldn't get the computer to come back on. i had it set up where I open the lid, and the laptop should turn on.
Battery life on this thing is terrible. I would be lucky to get maybe 30 minutes on this. I hope I never have to take a trip and have to depend on the battery because that thing will not last long at all.
The last thing that I noticed is that the wireless connection is sometimes spotty. When I first got the laptop I was having a lot of issues with connection speed as well as maintaining good connection. There would be times I would be downloading a game, and it just stops because my connection would quit. Most of it was fixed when we got a new modem and router, but I still notice that I will only get 4 out of 5 bars and I'm literally 7 feet away from the router and sometimes it will take a long time to download certain things. I understand that its not always the laptop, but it happens all across the board.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, the reason I'm giving the laptop a 2 star rating is not because of performance but because of the problems I was having. Between not being able to power up or shut down, and constantly calling customer service all the time it really made me not want to get another Toshiba. The only problems I was having before I sent the laptop to the Milpitas, CA repair facility was what I mentioned above. I get an email from a technician about 10 days or so after I sent it in saying they couldn't duplicate what was happening, and it really seems like nothing at all was fixed. Obviously I was having problems or else I would never have sent my computer in for repair. I finally received the computer from them, turn it on and immediately I notice a difference. I couldn't exactly see what I was noticing, but soon after messing around a little I couldn't get Google Chrome to load pages. Then I couldn't get Steam to update some games. It was like I had no network connection but the icon said I did, and even the diagnostic said all was good. But the only browser I could use was Internet Explorer because Chrome was completely useless. Finally I did a system restore and updated a driver for the graphics card and everything seems to be ok, for now. I just felt like I was always battling some sort of issue with this computer and I absolutely would never want to put up with all that again. I'm probably going to go with another brand when its time for me to move on, I don't know that I could recommend this computer to a friend or someone in my family.

1 out of 5 eggsPlz don't buy

Pros: On paper this laptop is a monster.

Cons: Basically everything. It overheats. Burns my thumb because it has the WORST cooling design I have ever seen in a "gaming" laptop. I use a gaming mouse so the exhaust exits to the right of the machine right where your hand would rest on the mouse. You can't use a track pad for gaming, sorry you just can't.

Other Thoughts: I can keep going on how bad this thing really is. I don't want to make a super long review. It will surf the heck out of the internet though.

Please Toshiba, don't make anymore of these. I would love to trade this in for a full money return on a newer better designed gaming laptop.

Make this right, and allow this us unhappy consumers to return this flawed laptop.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for a while...

Pros: GTX 670M GPU
2tb of hard drive/hybrid space
i7 cpu

Cons: GPU runs way too hot, even while on top of a cooling pad in a air conditioned room.

Other Thoughts: I Purchased this laptop in February 2013 and when I first got it I was in awe. It worked like a charm. Window's 8 had taken some practice to get used to but I got over it. Unfortunately I am unable to even play any games on it now as my GPU will over heat and my whole laptop ends up powering down until it feels that it is cool enough to start back up. Every time I play any game. I had the older Qosmio for a few years and never had a problem with it so when it came time to upgrade it was a no brainer for me. Lets just say I wish I would have thought about it more as this 1400 dollar gaming laptop is now nothing more than a 1400 dollar netbook that is basically only good for surfing the web now. Was really expecting more out of this.

1 out of 5 eggsHow Much? Read on, please.....

Pros: On paper high specs. In ideal situations runs fast and well

Cons: too many. Cost saving Qosmio model with new design made of cheeeeeap plastic. The red hard plastic accents look like a cheap red robot toy bought for my son at the dollar store. Internal this thing is a mess (read on for more info)

Other Thoughts: I work on this particular model and have first hand knowledge of internal and external use and testing of this model. One single hinge in the middle of which I have never seen one for repair that didn't have a squeak. Feels cheap when you look at it and feel the edges. Poor internal layout causing this thing to overheat and have video issues. Keyboard is not high quality. Should have a handle to carry around as it weighs a ton and is ungainly. Screen is big but just doesn't have the WOW factor.

5 out of 5 eggsswap out the wireless adapter

Pros: No 5.0 ghz adapter. I swapped mine out for the Intel Centrino Advanced 6235. Since the driver for the Intel Centrino 2230 is the same as the 6235 it worked with no issues. been streaming MLB since May with no hiccups.

Cons: No dual band wireless adapter.

3 out of 5 eggsBut sadly, it uses Windows 8

Pros: Boots very fast

Cons: Windows 8 - your XP office and many other apps won't work (or work properly) any more, and you'll have to deal with an OS Start page that makes no sense on a laptop or desktop. You will see the OS crash or lock up many times, like in the bad old days of Win98 edition1. Anything from clicking too fast on a Windows live email client, to connecting it to a projector, or installing a new app that doesn't say window 8, will cause the OS to crash. Then it wants to send a long useless report to microsoft. A couple of times it would not reboot. It took a battery removal to get it to start up again.

2 out of 5 eggsToo Hot When Gaming

Pros: Great Display, The Sound is Wonderful and I like the backlit keyboard. The 3D works great on many games.

Cons: Battery wont last 2 hours and even less if Gaming. Gets so hot when gaming it can burn your skin 155f

Other Thoughts: Having had two of these and now only one I can give a very good review. First I bought this to play high end games and do video editing. Overall the computer has a lot of features and works well. The bad part is that you can burn yourself on the right side if playing games for a long time. I measured the temperature while playing Crysis 3 and it reached 155f 68c Skin can be burned at 140-150 so you need to be very careful. And the second drive makes a slight clicking sound all the time. Both of the computers did this and when I called Toshiba for help they did not know what to do. They said I could return it or send the ENTIRE computer in to them. I told them what the problem and solution was but they did not listen. Also I posted three times on their website and not once did they put my review there. So when you look at their reviews it looks better than what it is.

Like I said if you are just using it for normal work it is great and the temperatures stay around 108f but for gamming or anything that requires the video card to work hard it is dangerous where the air exits on the right. And don't expect Toshibas technical support to be much help should you need specific help on this model. You will be better off trying to find your own solution.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good....

Pros: Fast, Quiet, 120Hz Refresh Rate

Cons: Secondary HDD failed on the second day of operation

Other Thoughts: Very good price for the hardware... definitely use a SSD for your primary drive...
