3 out of 5 eggsMeant For Upgrades

Pros: Price
i3 cpu with HD3000 graphics
better than any notebook within $200 of this one

Cons: 2GB RAM(not sure why they didn't just throw another stick in there... 2GB will barely run windows 7)
Like most notebooks the HDD is pretty sluggish.
HDMI port is horrible and barely works, it takes forever to angle it just right so it works properly
Had to install a fresh untouched version of windows 7 because all the other junk was annoying and was easier to just start from scratch.

Other Thoughts: 2GB is not enough for anything any more. With that said, it's not going to break the bank to pay $30 for 2 more gigs of ram... with 4GB and an SSD, this computer will be the ultimate browsing/movie computer for under $500 including the upgrades. If you're like me, with a desktop with 4TB HDD, I just stream movies off my desktop onto my laptop and use a 64GB SSD for the OS and the few apps that I have on it like skype, google chrome, VLC, and all the drivers.
If you're willing to spend another $30 on this, you'll have a great notebook.
If you're willing to spend another $80 you'll have a notebook that will out perform any other notebook under $750(while only paying $500 total)

1 out of 5 eggsLenovo B590

Pros: It came with Pro 7 which I needed. Also, I like purchasing from Newegg and have no problem with their service.

Cons: This is a horrible computer. It is slow to load. It is hardly functional at times yet when I use my other lap top on the same connection, that brand is fine. I have had major buyers remorse over this.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what the Doc ordered.

Pros: Windows 7 pro, good CPU speed. Feature rich. Very impressed with Antonline. They messaged often to make certain I was happy with it. I can't judge support, as I had no problems.

Cons: Of course, a bit light on RAM, but this is to be taken into consideration at this price. You should add RAM, but its inexpensive.

Other Thoughts: At this price, with Windows 7 Pro, its super. Just ask yourself, would you buy one for a hundred dollars more if it had 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD? That's about what it would cost to upgrade it, and you'd have a very strong performer. Did I mention Win 7 Pro?

4 out of 5 eggsGood computer, needs more ram

Pros: Windows 7!

Cons: Needs more RAM.

Other Thoughts: 2 GB of ram is not enough. Out of the box this computer was too slow for me, upgraded to 8 gig of ram and now it is great! Plus you get the option of keeping windows 7, which is something I really wanted.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but loaded with crapware

Pros: Solid machine, Lenovo doesn't quite build ThinkPads but its better than most

Cons: Lots of crapware and likely you will want to upgrade the RAM to 4GB.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Love the fact that it has Windows 7 Pro with the option to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro. So far so good.

Cons: None at this time.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks good but nothing special

Pros: It has a good processor for the price and comes with Windows 7.

Cons: It does not come with enough memory to function.

Other Thoughts: When you buy this computer budget buying a 4gig memory chip. It is basically unusable until you put more memory in it. I would suggest not upgrading to Windows 8 with this computer.

4 out of 5 eggsUpgrade Ram

Pros: the CPU in this notebook is really good for the price. It's one of the better i3's and MUCH better than the celerons and pentiums that are in notebooks in this price range.
HDD is pretty good
HD 3000 graphics is better than some of the older integrated graphics in laptops.
Comes with windows 8 license and disk, but I didn't want to deal with all the extra junk and installed a clean version of windows 7
USB 3.0

Cons: keyboard has huge keys which I hate... but that's personal preference and since it's actually for my father he loves that they are big.
2GB RAM just isn't enough for anything these days. You need to get another stick for $20. It's easy to install and for an extra $20 it makes a huge difference.
The bloatware is just ridiculous... I just got a clean windows 7 install w/o all the extra junk from lenovo.

Other Thoughts: Great notebook for school/study/homework, movies(I hook it up to the TV and watch movies in 1080p with it), and just browsing... Not a gaming computer and can be sluggish if you do more than one thing on it since it only has 2GB of RAM and only 1.6 GB usable.

If you want this thing to go really fast get a single 4 GB stick of RAM(so it will be 6 GB total) and a 120 GB SSD(or bigger if you need it) for an extra $100 and you'll have instant loads and it will seem like a $1000 computer unless you're compiling/rendering/converting large movies or files... which isn't really a good idea on an i3 CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsGood laptop

Pros: (After upgrade RAM to 8GB)
-Cheap with i3 and good video card.
-Play World of Warcraft with "Good" setting and run up to 100 fps! Most time 60-80 fps.
-Has mSATA, you can install SSD on mSATA and extra hard drive.
-Less than one second wake up from sleep! I push power button then it popped up and I missed it! WOW!
-I put my laptop lay on my leg, PERFECT, no heat! I play game, internet, youtube, etc...under panel still warm! Sometime cold...amazing. No more worry about heat.
-4-6 hours battery. I use it start at noon and battery dead at 5pm while I am lay on bed. LOVE IT.
-I open Visual Basic software, open in less than 3-5 seconds.
-Can use visual basic, photoshop (CS5), and Sony Vegas as well.

Cons: -This has 2GB RAM, you will need upgrade to 4GB or 8GB because 2GB will drive you crazy. So slower! I mean SLOWEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-This is Windows 7, but it has Windows 8 key product come with DVD. When you plan to recovery Windows, it will turn into Windows 8 and you lose Windows 7. Forever.

That all.

Other Thoughts: System Rate:
Processor: 6.9
Memory (RAM): 7.3 (upgrade to 8GB 1,333MHz)
Graphics: 6.4
Gaming graphics: 6.4
Primary hard disk: 5.9

I love this laptop! I use it almost all day. I can use it for my work office, travel, everywhere! I am very happy with this laptop. Perfect laptop.
