4 out of 5 eggsGreat, yet 'eco' friendly <--not in a good way

Pros: These things sound great for the limited power and size of the drivers. The quality of the sound was very pleasing(even the bass-port puts out a good enough sound), and the price tag even more so. Not to mention they look very sleek even with a gloss finish (I prefer matte).

Cons: The bad... Some have said they had a 'stand by' mode after a short period of no input that takes a bit too long to kick back on, I have yet to experience this. However, I have been getting an ANNOYING problem where the sound will lower on it's own resulting in me having to pause/play a youtube video for it to go back. At first I thought it was just the video until I noticed it happened everytime. When I had a playlist running and it lowered I naturally turned up the volume and when the next video played it starts blaring loudly. This alone will assure I never purchase another Creative product, I care about the environment, until it becomes a nuisance to my routine all so a company can say they're 'environmental friendly' to look good.

Other Thoughts: Regardless of my issue, for the price, quality of the sound, and portability. It's a great purchase.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great for 4 years....

Pros: Good sound... not great or excellent but pretty good. I've heard better and for $99 they should sound awesome, nope. Sound quality I give them a 4 out of 5.

Cons: After 4 years the left speaker started a static noise that won't go away. I tried many things and did isolate the problem as coming from the left speaker. Looks like I won't be buying this brand again.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent desktop speakers

Pros: Great sound quality, plenty of bass without need for a subwoofer, excellent detail in the sound.

Cons: The control knobs (volume, bass, treble) are made of slippery plastic and a little difficult to operate.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bang For The Buck

Pros: They take up less space compared to a 2.1 or bigger system. The mid range is clear, the highs are bright & the bass is nice as well. With little room for bigger than a 2.0 system, these have by far the best sound I've had in a desktop speaker set up. Couldn't recommend them more.

Cons: Nada from me.

5 out of 5 eggsOwner of several PC speakers. Great

Pros: Well packaged, constructed, designed in appearance, 6 foot cord from PC to speakers (nice), Good tonal controls in the front that adjust sound appropriately. I got these on sale so my opinion is based on these for $69 but I would pay $90 and feel I received full value.

These offer significant volume; especially for the price and no subwoofer taking up floor space. That is a significant advantage. I own Audioengine 5+ for my main PC. I have to say these are an excellent alternative especially considering the A5+ units are $400. The math and comparable performance put these units in the lead for lower volume jamming. The bass is deep. I would estimate the bass to be around 35dbs. The key is the quality of the bass with no sub is significantly clear and makes an impact. Creative has been around forever relative to the PC world. These speakers are an excellent addition to their sound cards.

Cons: The bass distorts at higher volumes but with the bass adjustment knob you can achieve high volumes with descent bass.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Sound

Pros: Clear Sound
Good Bass for small size

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great product for the price. These are head and shoulders above the cheaper offerings by other name brands. In my opinion they are worth the extra $50 over the cheap speakers.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good sound quality for the size.

Pros: Mids and treble frequencies are very good, especially mids.
Build quality is very solid, can't speak for the cabling yet.
Pretty small footprint for a desk, but they are pretty tall.
They look great.
Headphone and aux ports on the front are nice to have.
Headphone port double as a ghetto headphone amp!

Cons: They struggle to reproduce some very low frequency bass tones (<40Hz).
Can't reach a significant volume level without distortion in the bass, but for a fairly small bedroom they are clear and loud enough.
Even so, the quality of the bass outdoes a lot of 2.1 systems.

1 out of 5 eggsFaulty

Pros: Look nice

Cons: Upon receiving the speakers and plugging them in, they made a loud clicking sound. The left speaker was inop. They had a slight smell coming from the bass port. I tested the power supply and it was faulty, I did not have a spare to test the speakers as its a cheap Chinese 27v 1.7A power adapter. Dissapointed with Creative's quality thus far.

Other Thoughts: I have owned Creative speakers in the past, and all have seemed to be better made. They've cheaped out recently.

WIth Neweggs RMA policy, you pay for shipping. There goes $20 more for some speakers that hopefully work. Will update when I receive the second pair...
