5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: My microphone came quickly and works perfectly. My students and I are enjoying making sound files for educational apps.

Cons: None so far.

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy

Pros: Had it for 3 years and still works

Cons: Makes me sound muffled
People on the other end don't hear me so we'll
Have to speak with it 1 inch from your mouth

Other Thoughts: This was my first mic and it's lasted pretty long but still that doesn't even compare to how bad the quality of the sound is.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid at all costs

Pros: Looks.. sleek?

Cons: Horrible sound
Lasted less than a month

Other Thoughts: I've owned two of these. Neither lasted more than a month a piece. They just suddenly died, no reason, no damage whatsoever. Unfortunately I had purchased them at the local worstbuy retailer for $20 a pop. Never. Again.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of garbage!

Pros: Is there suppose to be any?

Cons: I have had 2 of these now: cheap garbage that you have to shout into for you to be heard. On/off switch makes loud scratchy sound when turning it making the others listening (Skype) jump out of their seats.

Other Thoughts: I realize this is only $5, but this shouldn't even be sold.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: It looks decent?

Cons: I've owned 4 of these, all are no longer working, and none lasted more then a months time. Absolutely the worst mic I've ever came across. DO NOT BUY

Other Thoughts: Save you time & money and buy anything other then this microphone.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Desktop Microphone

Pros: Long A-5-5 cord and does not exceed 500 lbs.

Cons: Does not work to standard. Tried changing settings almost everywhere on the computer and can't bring the volume of my voice up with this P-O-S.

Other Thoughts: To the people who got a working version of this mic; you are 1 in a hundred. Don't place your bets on this long-shot.

1 out of 5 eggsdoesn't work 2nd time

Pros: inexpensive, mute bottom

Cons: doesn't work after 2 months

Other Thoughts: when I first got it in oct/nov 2010 I tried it out right the way and it worked fine but when I wanted to use it again last week, it didn't work... they were in the same box as they came in between time...well, I paid twice as much as the item for shipping so it was somewhat a expensive try-out...

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Doesn't tip over.
wire length is very long.

Cons: Sound quality and volume are both very poor. Users on the other end must specifically raise my volume to the max inorder to hear me, and in many cases my volume is still relatively low.

Other Thoughts: I would not purchase or recommend this item.

1 out of 5 eggsAstonishingly Bad

Pros: Long Cord, On-Off Switch, technically it does work

Cons: Sound quality is terrible, Mic Boost must be high to get any sound at all, a fair amount of static

Other Thoughts: Just bought a few of these (before reading the reviews here . . . duh!) and they are absolutely abysmal. I just needed a few cheap mics for a little student project -- nothing fancy, just cheap and functional -- I don't think these are good enough . . . Last time I buy something without reading the newegg reviews. Among the worst products I've ever purchased . . .

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Mic

Pros: No on a headset so you can use your existing older headset

Cons: Not much really

Other Thoughts: I'm a VERY picky gamer and needed a new MIC, got this one at a local B&M store and had zero problems with Ventrillio or TS, or Mumble, all teammates could easily hear me and without even having the MIC close to me. I'm really not sure about the validity of the previous reviews they seem like they are all done by the same person. I tried with both with onboard Realtek ALC 850 and with my X-fi Extreme Audio and even with the MIC a good foot and a half away from me as long as I turned the MIC and wave/main volume up to around 1/4 to 1/2 volume, and as long as +20DB Mic Boost is enabled in the audio properties (as it's supposed to be) there's no problem at all with endless CS or UrT Frag sessions. This is over a 5 week span and I have found no issues with the MIC at all.

Even though I didn't buy it here do NOT be discouraged with this MIC it's perfectly fine and it allows you to keep using your existing headset.
