1 out of 5 eggsStopped working

Pros: These little speakers stopped working shortly after I bought them, while I was traveling. They weren't eligible for return, so I had to trash them.

Cons: Did not work.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome little guys

Pros: They can sit on the dash of the car while on a road trip and you can still hear them. They're cheaper than buying a new car radio that will take the mp3 input jack. They also have decent base (technically low mid) for being so small!

Cons: They buzz a bit if you are listening to them while charging. I have to make sure that my mp3 files are a little better quality, but that's just my own fault. Uhm... they aren't water proof? (Yes, I listen to them daily while in the shower.)

Other Thoughts: I originally bought these for a road trip. Driving 10 hour days, the battery last a day and a half on a full charge, just to give you an idea. We also got a usb to cigarette lighter jack (for the mp3 player and these), so we didn't have to worry about going without music. These little guys are still going even though i bought them on October of 2011! Also, don't expect to be blasted away with perfection. I'm a musician as well as IT. I know what professional sounds like, but for the price, I haven't heard anyone come close to being as awesome as these!! I highly recommend!!

Pros: Decent volume portable sound

Cons: Internal batteries do not charge, once the initial charge that was in them ran out they good for nothing more than paperweights.

1 out of 5 eggsBattery would not hold charge.. in two different sets.

Pros: Nice idea.

Cons: The first set I ordered held a charge for one hour, when charging appropriately. I tried charging it longer multiple times and it would not work at all.

I exchanged the speakers for another set. This time, it worked for about four hours, then I had the same problem with it as the last one. Even with trying to use it with the USB cord plugged into the computer, and it still would not work. My husband has more tech knowledge than I do and he couldn't figure it out either. I just wanted a refund at this point, but it's subject to a 15% fee and I've already paid for $15 in shipping now and refuse to pay more. I won't be using this brand again.

5 out of 5 eggsYou definitely get what you pay for...

Pros: ... and then some. I mean this is by no stretch of the imagination "Earth-shattering kaboom" style sound, nor is the bass quality marvelous... but if you wanted that, and you are familiar with what it sounds like, then you are also familiar with the kind of cash you have to shell out to GET that kind of sound and the size of the system that produces that kind of sound. This is perfect for my mATX gaming rig since I cart it around a lot and don't want to have to also carry around and set up a 7.1 surround sound behemoth everywhere I go. Compact design, strong sound for the form factor, high's and mid's very clear, bass is just enough that you don't hear COMPLETELY flat sound. A tiny bit of white noise when they are charging but it's not so bad really, nothing to cry and throw a fit over.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: System:

Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z/Gen 3 mATX LGA 1155 MoBo
Core i7 2600k, O.C. @ 4.6g
16 Gigs G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600
Zotac GTX 560 Ti-448 (second one in the future if I can still find them) O.C.'d

5 out of 5 eggsBuy

Pros: For forty dollars I can't complain. Extremely portable and amazingly they work!!! I expected only one of the speakers to work, a short in the wiring or poor connections which would degrade functionality...Nope not at all. I would buy these again. I actually purchased two at this price and haven't had to use the other pair. I have dropped them and they are quite dirty now and still boosting the output of computers I work with.

Cons: None. They could improve on the sound quality but that would cost you more so there are No cons to these 40 dollar speakers.

Other Thoughts: Eventually the internal springs will lose their ability to retract the wires inside the speaker casing but that is too be expected in any spring. I have owned these for four months and use them quite frequently on the job so i imagine the retracting feature will last others longer.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have been looking at speakers for quite sometime and wasn't real impressed with alot of them on the market till i came across these speakers . Being a Starwars fan i call them r2 and d2 the style is great ,the sound is great and i appreciate its recharbable .

Cons: The only thing is i wish the 3.5mm cord would have been longer.

Other Thoughts: I'll be enjoying my speakers !

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: These are exactly what I was looking for. Simple enough for the MP3 player, sound OK, even used them in the car!! Greatly improves sound on the Notebook as well. ust ordered another pair for a friend who loved mine so much he tried to walk off with them!!

Cons: Of course these are not the super frequency response mega excellent sound speakers, but you get what you paid for. If they sound good enough on the dash of the 91 Ford Festiva, they sound good anywhere...That's good enough for me, they make the laptop sound better also...

Other Thoughts: Love the portability, from the little carry bag to the retractable chords!!

5 out of 5 eggsDiamond mini rocker speakers

Pros: - Clever design. Two speakers snap together, with a "USB" (probably not really USB) link between them, using USB for power only. Comes with a separate USB "charge cable" which is a pass-through plug and must be used while the speakers are connected.
- Still work while charging, which some of these portable battery speakers cannot.
- Charge from USB
- 3.5mm jack for sound
- Fairly loud given their size and battery powered status
- Seem fairly well built, nice rubberized plastic finish, seem strong enough to withstand a mild beating.
- Wind up retractable cables in base of unit. Wind mechanism seems solid (I've seen worse by far), almost no chance of breaking the ribbon like cords by accident. Plastic caps protect cables on outside of unit, and also seem robust.
- LED indicator turns red when charging or in need of charge, blue when on or fully charged.

Cons: - Some of the worst speakers I have ever heard acoustically. Way, way better than laptop speakers, but still worse than 6" tall standup computer speakers.
- Pop-up "bass mode" is a joke and gimmick, doesn't seem to change acoustics or speaker properties at all.
- Plastic caps on cables are annoying when trying to plug them into things.
- While using the speakers and charging, there is a loud of background static noise. This quiets down to about 0 background noise when running off battery.

Other Thoughts: Easily twice as loud as my laptop speakers, these things are a life saver when you need them. They aren't the greatest for music, but you really should not expect the greatest for music from this small of a speaker that is battery powered. I certainly doubt any other small battery powered speaker will beat these for volume, clarity, or lack of distortion.

This is about as good as it gets for this form factor.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I use these with my cell phone for my massage therapy sessions. I have used them for 3 people before without taking a break, so they lasted for at least 4 hours on a single charge. They are the only set of speakers I actually have to turn down because they are playing too loud.

Cons: The locking hooks broke after the first week, so I have to be careful with them as they remain open all the time.

Other Thoughts: They really should think about upgrading the locking systems to metal over the plastic they use presently.
