4 out of 5 eggsix500 Scansnap Deluxe

Pros: Fast & wireless are the two biggies, also has usb3.0. I bought after reviewing comments and researching for some time.

Cons: No "batch capability" built in to the programming through Scansnap. It also has no Twain drivers but I knew that. (but it should)

Other Thoughts: This may not be a fair appraisal of the scanner since I only had it unboxed and set up for an hour or two. I have no doubt that it might be all others have raved about. Certainly the wireless is a plus.

This unit was for a home-office environment that does both Real Estate and Lending.

So they took return and I bought the fi7160, which is double the money and not wireless but does have usb3.0 and Does also have Paperstream which contains both Twain drivers And various batch filing including some complex capabilities. It is also even faster and a lot gets done in a little time......paper then goes right into the shredder after dealing with just once!

PS-the return was very quick and professional, Thanks NewEgg!

1 out of 5 eggsWorks intermittently

Pros: I have a S1500 Fujitsu Scanner that works flawlessly. This scanner, when it works, is awesome.

Cons: It hasn't worked from day one without communication errors, and it doesn't appear to be USB related. Immediately after powering up, the blue scan light changes from blue to flashing amber. Sometimes after unplugging both the USB and power cables several times, I can scan documents.

5 out of 5 eggsDear sweet Lord, this scanner is fast!

Pros: Fast.

Screaming fast.

Oh sweetness, this thing is fast.

Scans both sides (when you ask it to) at the same time and deletes blank pages (with the included software).

Lots of options for how you want images scanned, where you want to send them. (Hint: Map network drive and send to the mapped drive made it easy.)

Great software bundle included.

Connect to the scanner with WiFi - or turn wifi off entirely.

Cons: So far, nothing. The scanner has worked great.

Other Thoughts: This is our second Fujitsu scanner of this class. The first one, we have used for a couple years and it continues to work great. When it came time to add another scanner, this was an easy choice.

3 out of 5 eggsN0 TWAIN Support

Pros: For me? There are no PROS. The ScanSnap series does NOT support TWAIN.

Cons: I expect scanners to support TWAIN. If you look through all the info here at NewEgg, you will discover that it does SAY that it doesn't support TWAIN, but It's isn't noted prominently in the item description.

Other Thoughts: It's my fault for not researching this device completely, but it should be a WHOLE LOT CLEARER that this isn't compatible with ANY third party software.

2 out of 5 eggsGood While It Lasts

Pros: Ease of use, reasonable price, good reproduction, small foot print.

Cons: Poor Wi-fi connectivity. Short life.

Other Thoughts: Worked well enough for six months and then refused to even feed paper. I'm good at this and tried every trick I could find to make it work. Nothing. Try something different.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best desktop scanners on the market

Pros: Fujitsu really stepped up their game w/the iX series scanners. I have purchased about 10 of these in the past 2 years for small medical offices where they do heavy scanning of medical charts and such. Zero issues. I will continue to buy these for clients too. High speed scanning and organization. Feature rich, Adobe PDF Standard software included (in the deluxe bundle only). Doesn't take up much space on the desk, folds up nice and compact.

Cons: No cons really, except the wifi part isn't simple to figure out.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this product. In scanners, you get what you pay for. This scanner isn't inexpensive, but it's not a piece of junk either. I is a workhorse that will last years.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Able to scan many pages continuously. Scanner and associated software is easy to use and fairly customizable. For a package that comes with Adobe Standard (~$200) it is a great deal.

Cons: Has high tendency to produce scan lines when scanning many sheets with full color pictures. Sometimes the rollers will grab an incorrect sheet.

Other Thoughts: I am using the scanner to scan in old magazines and documents and works very well for the needs. Only wished it had a higher DPI capability and ability to accept larger paper.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: non

Cons: This is a piece of junk, it doesn't do any thing more than a print/scanner and a good software program. It does not connect to any network devices by wireless unless you use the supplied cable each and every time.
