Pros: Easy to use and read

Cons: Power button goes bad within 4-6 months. 3 Year warranty is misleading. Replaced player within first year because of power button. Replacement player goes bad a year later, same problem, but warranty service says it only warranties original player not replacements. so much for 3 year warranty

1 out of 5 eggsWill not turn on

Pros: It gets recognized when plugged-in and sd card works.

Cons: The software says that the battery level is critical and stays at 0% for how ever long it is plugged in. If the power button is pushed or held for 15+ seconds nothing happens.

Other Thoughts: Got this after my old fuse broke in my pocket, now don't know what I will do.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi RoyalPro,

My name is Allen from SanDisk support. You may not be able to see the battery status on the computer because of multiple factors. You can check the correct battery level by going into the following option:

Go to Settings>Info

Also, the player can go in a temporary freezing state and can easily be recovered to its original state by performing a reset. Please refer to the link below for instructions:

If the player no longer turns on, please try connecting your player in the force MSC mode using the steps provided in the link below:

Also, we recommend you to please update your Sansa Player with latest firmware. Please refer to the link below for the instructions on how to update the firmware of your Sansa Player:

If issue persists, please contact SanDisk support at 1-866-SANDISK or submit a support request at SanDisk stands behind the warranty on its products. 4 out of 5 eggsPretty decent for the price.

Pros: Love the red color.
Also you can watch videos and listen to podcasts.
Able to view the album art for your music!
Touch pad navigation.

Cons: Not touch screen obviously, but the touch pad style is an interesting design and a bit wonky to navigate through the player with. Plus when tapping on the different areas sometimes makes the player do something completely opposite of what you want it to. It's just a bit of a..well.. "Touchy" touch pad. Also the power button doesn't react too well to when I need to use it to lock the player so I don't accidentally skip a song I want to listen to.

Other Thoughts: Well, you'd think my CON description would make one think "Shouldn't this be a 3 Egg rating?". Well being a tech savvy guy, I can't give this anything below 4 eggs. I mean it's an interesting design what with using a touch pad style of control to the player as opposed to touch screen. Though a bit "Touchy" I still love this thing. When you take the time to work with it and get used to it, it's a pretty sweet mp4 player. Again being able to view the album art on the music if the tracks have an album source is pretty sweet and plus you can see it in the background of your player in a nice collage! Gotta say alot of people just don't seem to have the patience with touch pads as I do and I must say this mp4 player is pretty awesome. SanDisk whips out a nice new player.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Mp3 Player

Pros: Battery Life, Trouch Screen. Nice Screen. Options

Cons: Only when you get it out of the Package that it comes it. Have to Use Lots of Force to get it out of the Packageing.

Other Thoughts: Great inexpensvie little player. Eveyone says the Touch pad is bad. Its works just fine no problems with it at all. And easy to use.

1 out of 5 eggsLove SanDisk - hate this

Pros: Sound quality, screen color and look

Cons: TOUCH PAD...touch pad...touch pad - couldn't hate this feature more. File organization also terrible

Other Thoughts: I have 7 Sandisk players and 1 iPod touch. I'm a huge Sandisk fan. This is their LEAST user friendly player yet. I would definitely stick to the FUZE or CLIP if you want a rock solid, easy to use player. The touch pad on this is basically garbage - hard to master and prone to false trigger when handling the player. The screen is nice but, you have convert any video or photos before loading, so why bother. It has great sound but the touch pad makes it too much hassle to use.

3 out of 5 eggsGet the original Fuze instead

Pros: Low cost, standard USB connector, good/loud sound, bright screen, takes 32GB SDHC, not an I-Pod.

Cons: Touch pad is so frustrating as to be unusable. Been practicing for a few weeks now, and it's just not worth it. Definately not doable without looking (i.e. while driving.)

With a 32GB SD card, it takes 1 minute+ (literally) to boot.

Other Thoughts: Going to pony up for the original with the wheel control. This one is now an expensive thumb drive.

2 out of 5 eggsOk for music, and that's it.

Pros: Good sound, long battery life.

Cons: Screen scratches, touch pad too sensitive, instruction manual misleading.

Other Thoughts: I bought this music player to replace one I purchased at ******* 3 years ago. It has decent memory capacity and good sound production for the price. It's menu interface is tricky but easily figured out if overly complicated. It's biggest drawback is that the screen scratches if you look at it too hard, seriously I had the thing for one day and kept it in my nice soft cotton pocket and it was scratched. After 2 months you can forget about it's movie playing ability even if you wanted to watch a screen that small. The touch pad controls are nice but far too sensitive and lack the tactile feel of a good button. I would have given this product a 4 star review since it does what it's supposed to do (play music files) just fine and the battery lasts forever, but I am probably going to have to replace it in less than a year once the screen becomes too scratched to see and that makes it a poor value in my book. Also, ignore the manual saying you have to install Rhapsody, you don't.

4 out of 5 eggsWill never beat "i" products

Pros: Great gift item, but would never own one myself.

Cons: Poor interface and horrible conversion software.

Other Thoughts: Gave as a gift to a Mentally Handicapped relative and they are able to use some of the features.
