5 out of 5 eggsGreat Refurbished

Pros: Works great as a refurb I picked up a few years ago at 32 bucks or thereabouts.

Cons: None for that price, I'm not sure If I'd buy one for $100 though myself.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None ! Seriously None ! See Comments Below.

Cons: MANY:
1) Sansa Fuze; and,
2) Sansa Fuze+Plus: Suffer from design flaws that were never addressed prior to sending these products to market.

1) Sansa Fuse: Suffers from a faulty designed and manufactured earphone connector that produces crackling electrical sounds when moving the unit (walking). This crackling shows up rather quickly. I have already RMA'd one unit back to SansaDisk and bought another. Same problem within a short period of time AGAIN. Unfortunately, it coincided with this unit becoming obsolete! I Wonder Why!

2) Sansa Fuse+Plus: Suffers from an OVERLY SENSITIVE TOUCH CONTROLS. This makes the unit quite IMPOSSIBLE TO OPERATE! It seems the Slightest touch will send the unit JUMPING ALL OVER THE MENUS AVAILABLE. BACK AND FORTH at the slightest touch. Going to/from the next song, previous song. One Menu to Another at the touch of a feather! AMAZING. Now if you try to navigate through the menus with the touch pad (GOOD LUCK WITH THAT), even the softest breeze will set it off wandering all over the place.

All this nightmarish OPERATIONAL MALFUNCTION, will give you migraine headaches.

This goes beyond disappointment.

I Doubt SANDISK has changed their marketing philosophy, of RUSHING PRODUCTS TO MARKET Before the Products are ready for Prime Time.

Other Thoughts: If you decide to go ahead and purchase any SANSA PRODUCTS?? You have been properly advised.
Good Luck With That !

2 out of 5 eggsBuy the Extended Warranty

Pros: Easy interface. Works with many music managers.

Cons: EVERY Sansa fails to last more than 1 year of use. Buy the extended warranty. This unit failed and the extended warranty came in handy. I'm going to buy another brand once I get the credit from this return.

Other Thoughts: Gonna have to say that this is a short term MP3 solution. Too many plasticy parts that fail with normal use. Buying another brand next.

2 out of 5 eggsNice idea but quirky UI. Back to my old Fuze...

Pros: Accepts MicroSD cards for more storage
RockBox port sorta works
Uses standard microUSB connector
Larger screen than some other small players

Cons: Touch User Interface is quirky, annoying, essentially unusable.
Touch UI slow, lags. Unusable

Other Thoughts: This device would be great with a more responsive UI and touch wheel like the old Fuze. It's great that it uses microUSB instead of Sansa's proprietary connector.

4 out of 5 eggsRefurbished Unit works fine

Pros: - Refurbished Product looks new and never used.
- Accepts micro SDHC up to 32Gb.
- Total memory size of 40Gb.
- Easy to update firmware.
- Easy to download User Manual.
- Small and Light.
- Still working after 1 month of use.
- FM Tuner is a feature that works well.
- Excellent Price on Refurbished units from NewEgg

Cons: - Touch controls are somewhat twitchy.
- Sansa Media Converter software is useless and does nothing.
- Earbuds are just ok for aural quality.
- There are no accessories like silicone skins, arm holders, belt clips, or other accessories for this mp3 player like there are for the older Fuze models.
- Easily scratched.

Other Thoughts: I saw that NewEgg had a special on the Refurbished model in Black color for $32 - less than half the cost of a brand new one. I have had previous Sansa mp3 players that were refurbished and they worked fine. The other reviews indicate that they usually fail right away so I could RMA them if they didn't work. I wanted a player that allowed for the addition of larger capacity memory to store music, photos, and video. At 40Gb, this fit the bill. I thought that, for this price, I would buy one for my wife and one for myself.

The other reviews indicate that many people have difficulties with the touch controls. While I like the wheel of the older Fuze player better because it gives a more linear response and doesn't overreact, the new Fuze+ touch controls are acceptable after a short period of familiarization. The controls are not linear so moving your finger over the controls at slightly different speeds can yield vastly different results.

I would recommend these players.

4 out of 5 eggsSansa Fuze + 2.4 Black 8GB MP3

Pros: The sound is crisp and versatile. The Fuse has a pre-configured equalizer that allows you choose factory presets or you can customize your sound with a five band equalizer . The touch pad is a bit sensitive but you get used to it rather quickly. Changing songs without out looking is so easy. Its real easy to create playlist from your music folder files (Micro SD).

Cons: None so far !!!!!!

Other Thoughts: It didn't get the extra egg because the user manual was not friendly.

1 out of 5 eggsSleek and first

Pros: I love the Sandisk Sansa line of MP3 players so I was really excited when I saw the Fuze+. I was more excited when I saw the price. The Fuze+ comes in several colors and although I would have loved to be able to buy it in other colors, the black nicely complements to new sleek design. Like all of the previous video capable Sansa products, it has an awesome video display. And it feels good in your hand. It also has a smaller, more universal (and easily replaceable) charging cord/data cable rather that the proprietary charger on the previous model. Lastly, the sound is excellent. But here is where the pros stop.

Cons: The Fuze+ has an extremely sensitive touch control. This was mentioned by several other posters, but in my case, I listen to audio books and each section plays for about an hour or more. I will pause it when I am finished listening and it will hold my place, but while turning it back on later or while playing it, if I accidentally touch along the side, the Fuze+ interprets this as a request to start over. So I am forced, repeatedly, to relisten to the part I have just heard to get to the part I haven't because none of the Sandask products offer the option to scroll to the point you want to begin listening.

Other Thoughts: The touch issues cause one to think the Fuze+ is a cheap, foreign product and it has made me begin to question the quality of any other future Sansa products. I was really hoping to love this MP3. In fact I bought 3 of them for myself and Christmas gifts based on my experience with several Sandisk products I have not yet been able to acclimate to the sensitive touch pad and I have been using it daily for three months. Therefore, I would not recommend the Fuze+ to friends and family members because I would not want to put them through this much aggravation.

3 out of 5 eggsgood mp4 player but might not want this model if you just need mp3

Pros: I love the sansa music players overall.
I had to purchase mine somewhere else for more money when I couldn't find mine old one This model worked much better after doing a firmware update.
I think the small screen has a really great image.
Sound on it is as good as the other models I've owned.

Cons: Navigation is really bad. I love the older model that my wife now uses. May still get another one of them. I am no longer able to go from folder to folder etc w/o looking at the screen like the last one which was w/o mp4 play back.

Other Thoughts: Got it for use in the vehicle but it's not safe to try to navigate while driving.

4 out of 5 eggsSansa Fuze+ 8Gb

Pros: Powerful amp, MicroSDHC slot that integrates with the onboard memory. It's a good size for the hand... the clip is almost too small. This is light however... so jogging with it in your pocket is not too obtrusive. Screen is nice and bright. Keeps it's charge well and charges quickly enough.

Cons: The touch controls can be a bit bothersome... At times it seems to not register and the next moment it becomes super sensitive. In particular, scrolling through artists.... sometimes I'll want to scroll two or three lines and I will press down or up multiple times and it doesn't go.... then I'll do a slow swipe and the list scrolls from a to z in half a second... arrrgggghhhh! I live with it.... it's like a girlfriend that's really sexy and cool but can be a real pain now and then.

Other Thoughts: Great player. Seems to hold up to my workouts so far. I said the amp is powerful.... and it is. However the sound quality is vastly improved with my Fiio E5 amp.

Sansa - thanks for adopting the microUSB jack rather than the mini or the old proprietary jack that is on my e280. Sure is nice being able to have only one car charger that fits my phone, mp3 player, nook, and bluetooth hands-free speaker. Kudos to all mfrs for going with this standard!

1 out of 5 eggsCrummy touch pad

Pros: *Intuitive software interface
*Easy music loading from PC to device
*Plenty of storage room

Cons: *AWFUL touch-pad system: the touch pad sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. The songs will switch without touching the touchpad. You touch the left side tap point and the screen will scroll right (and vice-versa).
*No AC adapter (altough you can get a portable "USB travel adapter" at stores like Radio Shack and that works great)

Other Thoughts: The best part of this product is its easy interface with Windows Media player or Windows Explorer, but this is also true of other Sansa products. I had the Sansa 200 series MP3 player for two years and LOVED it before it was stolen. The physical interface of the Fuze+ leaves me dissappointed - the menu interface is easy to navigate, but the touch pad makes it difficult or impossible make your way through the menus. Its even hard to just sit there and listen to music, because even slight taps on the side of the device activates the touch pad, skipping or pausing songs in the middle of playback.

I wish I could take it back.
