1 out of 5 eggsSanDisk

Pros: You can add a 8gig micro SD to it.

Cons: This model of SanDisk stopped working after one month. It will not turn on, and will not recharge. I purchase it 1-14-14 and it stopped working 2-18-14. Now I cannot return it.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a nice little unit. The display is sharp even for a tiny unit. The controls and menu is easy to understand. The radio station set-up is a bit confusing to get set up to but adequate. You really don't need a lot of time on how use this MP3 player which is great. It took me all of 15 minutes to figure it out. Also the clip-on was a great idea.

Cons: The battery display is poorly done. It is hard to read and the colors should have been more brighter to stand out. It almost looks camouflaged. You really have to look at it closely to see if it needs to be recharged. And when recharging, the unit will not tell you that it is full. You have to disconnect it from the computer and then check it.

Other Thoughts: Other than the con part, it is actually a good little unit for the price.

1 out of 5 eggsI have had two fail and need to be returned/replaced.

Pros: It uses an SD card. Sometimes it plays music.

Cons: I purchased this in December 2012 because it seemed like the best MP3 player I could get that allowed a huge SD card. The product had many issues and I eventually returned my first one and the second one died the second day.

The product mostly worked. I used it for running. Sometimes it would freeze midsong. I could push play/pause and see the play/pause change but no music would play. Eventually I learned I could resolve this issue by turning the Sansa Clip off, then on, and I could resume whatever music I had mid-song and actually hear it. This was very annoying.

Sometimes it would freeze entirely. I was forced to wait until the battery died, then I could recharge and boot.

Eventually the SD card reader died entirely. I returned it.

The return process was simple. Customer service was helpful. I received my new Sansa Zip Clip promptly.

It died the second day. I went running. It stopped working mid-run. It has been plugged into a charger since. I have tried to reboot by holding the power button down for several minutes. There have been no changes.

I will be asking for a refund.

3 out of 5 eggsOk Hardware, meh software

Pros: Nice sound with earbuds and jawbone jambox. Good price.

Cons: Software unstable with add in stick. Database builds very sensitive to id3 tags. Had the latest firmware from SanDisk.

Other Thoughts: Purchased with 32Gb Class 10 stick. Database builds hung and product was unusable until Rockbox was installed, then it is working well. Very happy now, but a painful struggle until new firmware was installed.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad but a little quirky

Pros: Relatively easy to use. Decent price for capacity and features.

Cons: I've tried using wall plug chargers, even with the USB cable that came with the Sanza Clip with no luck. The thing only seems to charge when it is plugged into a USB port on my computer. Earphones not the best but okay.

Other Thoughts: I use the Sanza Clip for listening to music and for that it works great and has all the features I want. It's very easy to download mp3 and wma files from my computers. I've adjusted the equalizer to my own sound preference. I bought a set of Philips ear canal ear buds that I am extremely happy with. They do a great job of cutting out background noise and have very good sound reproduction.

4 out of 5 eggsGood things...Small packages.

Pros: This is the tiniest MP3 player I have ever owned but it is also one of the best. When I bought it I was not aware of its size. This is suitable for jogging or other exercise as it comes with a built in clip. At 8GB there is plenty of storage but it accepts micro sd cards as well, it comes with a built in fm tuner, and has an adjustable 5 band EQ. It delivers great sound quality. I deducted 1 egg because of its size since if I had known I would have passed on buying it and because if I had to pay anything near list price for it it would not be worth it. it just feels too light and insubstantial in my hands so light in fact that the outer case seems empty, like the inner parts have not been installed. This design is clearly for the avid exerciser as anything with weight to it would fly off the user during activities. This is still an excellent MP3 player tho.

Cons: Too small, no weight to it, small screen. I reused an SD card from an old android smartphone and I couldn't access the other file types on the card to delete them.

Other Thoughts: List price is $70 plus shipping and this device is not worth it in my opinion. I did have a coupon code for $20 + free 2 day shipping via another service. (which still took longer than 2 days,,, ) essentially I paid a little more than half the total price (vs list + 2day shipping of about $16) so I am fine with this unit given what I paid. an avid exerciser would probably be satisfied with it at a bit higher price since the weight and size would best suit their needs.

5 out of 5 eggsipod killer for the price

Pros: If you buy a music player just for music and want to use it in your car, when you work out or just relaxing on the couch, this is for you!
