3 out of 5 eggsso and so

Pros: cheap
does what it needs to

Cons: 2 GB
feels cheap (because it is)

Other Thoughts: luckily I only needed this as a part time replacement so I could use it while I practice and workout. If you need a long term or permanent solution I'd advise looking elsewhere

1 out of 5 eggsPoor

Pros: Small/light/cheap.

Cons: No playback while charging.

Other Thoughts: Installed their software, registered device. Can't click on Firmware Details or Firmware Upgrade. So no idea if an update will fix the problem.

1 out of 5 eggsBroke in 3 months

Pros: Worked ok at the first.

Cons: First, it wasn't so great as it doesn't allow you to make custom playlists (you can do 1 playlist, but it's awkward to find and add music to it) and you can't play a whole album at once in order without using the one playlist.

Secondly, it broke after 3 months. The screen just froze and it wouldn't respond. After opening it to remove the battery (via's built like an apple product in terms of ease of access to batteries), it worked for another 2 days before freezing again.

Cheap Chinese garbage...steer clear.

4 out of 5 eggsGood MP3 player for it's price

Pros: -Cheap
-Easy to use
-Sounds pretty good

Cons: Doesn't have many extra features.

And the ones it does have aren't that great. You're better off buying devices that are actually meant to handle those features than this which pretty much is good only for playing music.

Other Thoughts: Got this to temporarily replace my two-year old Sansa Fuze. I've never had any good experiences with Coby products but this mp3 player is pretty good considering.

It's pretty much a no-frills kind of player. Good enough for taking to the gym or replacing your favorite player until you get a new one. Getting music on it is as easy as dragging your files to it's music folder.

Video... Not so much. It refuses to play whatever I throw on there. Even if video worked, it's washed out, tiny screen wouldn't be good for viewing anyway.

It also has a reader on there but it only accepts .txt files and you have to press the button to scroll down so you're better off getting a Kindle or something.

The radio has a similar problem. The first time I tried it, I gave up because I had to browse through stations manually and as far as I could tell, there isn't any auto-tune.

So in the end, for its great price you get a pretty good mp3 player and that's pretty much it.

5 out of 5 eggsKids first MP3 player

Pros: Got 2 for the kids first MP3 player. They like them and that's all that matters.

Cons: Good starter MP3 player for youngsters.

Other Thoughts: Got em on sale, might not be cost effective at full price for kids first mp3 player
