This review is from: TomTom GO 2405TM 4.3" GPS Navigation With Lifetime Traffic And Map Updates
Pros: I really like the user input and daily update part for the maps. If you find something not right on their map you can submit a correction. Not sure yet how this will work out in actually making changes to map... but I like the idea.. Traffic radio signal display is interesting and does seem to give you some help. The display has lot of info - more than others I have used. Also has more ways to calculate routing. There is a feature for speed and other types of camera notification. Also blue tooth for your phone and you can use voice for routing. IQ routing tries to take into account historical data concerning traffic etc for route planning.
Cons: No micro SD slot, does not look like you can replace battery. (so expect shorter lifetime for device since batteries do not last forever). Does not have a compass directional that I can find. I have had the GPS signal drop out a few times in high mountain areas.. Tends to hold onto the calculated route forever even if you decide to go a different way for some unpredictable reason telling you for quite some time to make a u turn... This happened when I knew a 5 hour route and it was telling me to take a 6.5 hour route. This was really disappointing and I am hoping it was because I had not yet updated the map that came with the device. BTW... if you get one of these... update your maps and the operating system right away... it is shipped with old map and program. It does not have as many speed limits (at least on the limited routes I have done so far) The speed camera service seems to be a new idea that has not really been implemented yet. The service is there but no data is there and you cannot seem to sign up for the service as of yet. The traffic signal works to some extent but appears to be location specific... so that as you get close to say a traffic slowdown (in metro areas only) the info will come up. But too far away and you will probably not have any info. So it will not help you plan a trip from too long a distance.
Other Thoughts: Could not believe how fast Newegg got this product to me.
