Pros: Just got this mount today, haven't used it yet. I decided to get one since I have a vent mount for my old car & it don't work with the new car. My brother & his kids have it & they seem to like it so I figured I give it a try. Got at the new egg site & payed $19 for it, can't see why anyone would pay $35 for it on the garmin site.

Pros: Works perfectly even when my wife is driving. Holds the garmen in place and makes it easy timove to a less visible placed when parked

Pros: It does exactly what you want it to do. It was also $15.00 or $20.00 cheaper than you could buy the friction mount here locally.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg and UPS should be commended for the fast shipping of your purchases. Anything coming out of Tennessee gets here lightning fast. Keep up the good work.

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do! It replaces the windshield mount, it's portable, keeps the GPS within easy reach, & you can hide it when you reach your destination.

Pros: Works fine for 6 months, then the foam degrades and leaves you with a semi-friciton mount.

Pros: Doesn't slide on slightly curved and flat surfaces. Can't fall off your windshield like the silly suction cup mounts do.

Cons: You have to exert a bit more pressure than what feels comfortable to snap the bracket into the ball, but two out of two brackets I've inserted haven't snapped.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't matter if you have an $80 GPS or $280 GPS, this is a must-have for Garmin automotive GPS units. Using it with my nuvi 1450 which has great features for the price and looks SO gorgeous even amongst the plethora of sleek GPS units out there. I liked mine so I got one for my parents and a friend.

Pros: Snaps securely onto GPS.
Grips the dash well and doesn't move so much as an inch.

Cons: Sometimes it can be a little hard to snap and unsnap the GPS from the mount, but that's no big deal.

Other Thoughts: It does what its supposed to. No major complaints here.

Pros: This is the best idea out there for taking the GPS in the car, I have two of them and they are used heavily. This keeps the GPS planted on the dash in pretty much any driving situation (no probably not if you roll the car or get rear-ended, but gravity does wonders). It weighs maybe 3 pounds but its plenty to keep it put, but light enough so you can pass it over to the passenger. It also has bendable metal in the base, so if you want it in the same place everytime you can contour the bottom to what the dash does.

Cons: Probably doesn't repel hot cocoa or coffee well for itself or the GPS.

Other Thoughts: I do not encourage people to skimp the 15 bucks and get the knock off item here. It uses the suction cup to fasten to the base, and it is only a matter of time until it stops sealing. I've used this base for years and messed with it while I'm riding and it won't break if you make sure you aren't hitting or stepping on it.

Pros: Portable, easily move to different vehicles, easily adjustable.

Cons: Works well in my truck and Aveo.

Slides all over in my Malibu.

Must be the angle of the dash.

Truck dash angles to the windshield and the Aveo dash has a nice flat spot. Works great in these vehicles.

Malibu dash angles in towards passenger compartment. Friction mount slides off dash any time I accelerate remotely quickly from a stop, or if a take a tight turn.

Quit using in my Malibu for fear of GPS and mount sliding off dash and breaking GPS.

Other Thoughts: Bought a vent mount for the Malibu and it works great for me.
