Pros: Makes inputting text into the Xbox WAY easier and faster. The keys also light up when you push one, so you can even use it while playing in the dark.

Cons: I don't have a problem with it whatsoever, but whenever I have company over, they absolutly HATE having the chat pad on the controller. It feels to weird for them to play with it, which I've never felt that way since day one, but they rip it off immediately and I actually bought a new one from Newegg just because they lost it! So if you have bad company, beware!

Other Thoughts: While I would recommend this for anyone owning an Xbox because at some point you are going to have to enter text and it is just way quicker and easier with this thing, I would especially recommend this for people using Netflix on their Xbox because Netflix doesn't use the built in text entry of the Xbox, it uses it's own which is far more stupid and even slower than the default Xbox text input, so I would espeically recommend the chat pad in that case.

Pros: Makes enter of info and sending messages a breeze.

Cons: I do feel that I have to be rather gentle with the microphone and when I do use it I notice the mic has to be pretty close to my mouth, or I have to talk loudly.

Other Thoughts: I see others say it's a pain to put on and off, and that it feels like your about to break it when putting it on the first time.... It actually comes on and off easily if done correctly. The first I attaching it I felt like I was forcing it on there and thought to myself this can't be the right. Took a second and lined up everything at a different angle and it snapped right in.

Keyboard is awesome. Microphone is okay, and price is reasonable.

Pros: Pretty much the same review I have the wired Xbox 360 controller. When this product is good it's great. It's so much faster and easier to use this chat pad for typing than using the normal interface.

Cons: Cons is exactly what I gave the controllers. Quality from the factory is slipping. I'm getting more and more controllers/chat pads etc that are faulty right out of the box. My latest chat pad came right out of the box with 3 stuck keys. They had to be pressed really really hard in order for them to activate.

Other Thoughts: I hate giving these and the controllers 3 eggs instead of 5 over something like fit and finish from the factory but when it's affecting functionality it becomes important enough to affect a review. I've had my Xbox 360 for several years now and up until about a year ago the Microsoft official brand controlleres and assecories where the best on the market. Lately I've been getting more and more "lemons", products with sticky keys, squeeky moving parts and fitament issues. Official MS products are still the best quality on the market as long as you get a good one but the odds of getting a lemon lately are increasing quite noticeably.

Pros: Works great and is much faster then using the joystick. It's also easy to setup, just snap it on and use it.

Cons: The head set is not a $100 headset, but honestly who is buying this for the headset.

Pros: -attaches perfectly to microsoft xbox controllers
-no noticeable keyboard to xbox lag
-backlit keys make typing easy when in a dark environment
-price (headset at stores costs $20.00)

Cons: -headset is flimsy/cheap
-headset TRS connector doesn't seem to lock in the socket on any of my controllers very well but the socket on the keyboard seems to have a good hold on the headset connector

Pros: -The keypad allows lightning fast typing, rather than stumbling around the normal chat interface.

Cons: -Keypad is difficult to attach and remove. Once it's on, it's on for good.
-Included headset is garbage.

Other Thoughts: I personally have never had any real problems with this set. It's worked great for me, and the chatpad is a lot easier to use rather than using the normal response method; moving your joystick around for 15 minutes, just so you can type a 4 worded sentence.

The only problem I really have with it is just that attaching it for the first time is an absolute pain. It took me about 3 minutes before I actually got it on, and now it can never be removed again. Which in a way, I guess is good because if I accidentally drop my controller, the keypad won't come flying off and hit me in the face.


All in all, I'd definitely recommend this. It lets you spend less time typing, and more time playing.

Pros: much faster typing for long texts to friends/family. still able to remove battery from the back without taking off the chat pad. backlight letters

Cons: makes controller a bit more bulky. somewhat hard to initially get it on.

Other Thoughts: this official MS pad is always going to better quality than the knockoffs. besides working and fitting better, this MS pad lights up when u start typing (the knockoffs dont do this). i consider the light up letters an absolute necessity.
