2 out of 5 eggsTake anger management classes before playing

Pros: Decent graphics

Good way to waste a few hours of time

Characters can be unlocked quickly

Cons: Cheap shot AI. They knock you down, then prevent you from getting up and continue to beating the tar out of you. The majority of fights consist of either doing constant cheap shots and getting lucky enough to win, getting lucky enough to find a certain combo that you can use with little effort and hoping it doesn't get blocked, repelled or avoided, or lying on the ground, getting the beating of your life.

Customization system is an annoyance, seeing as there's barely any decent special attributes, and those that are good, take using set armor that either looks bad, or weakens your character.

Each attack leaves a slight pause between the next attack, giving a weakness that allows your opponent to easily gain the upper hand, instead of blocking or repelling the attack.

Combos are ridiculous; it's like trying to perform a finishing move on the SNES version of Mortal Kombat, and doing so while being under attack.

Other Thoughts: Seriously... make sure you don't have a problem with getting angry, or you'll be using your game as a shooting target within the first hour trying to ascend to the top of the tower.

The move list in the start menu, during a fight, also replaces the button combinations with letters, forcing you to look back and forth to try and figure out which letter is what button.

My rating might be harsh, but it's thoroughly angered me, and because of that, it's been lowered from a 3, to a 2. Average games don't anger me, that's reserved for below average games that have ridiculous controls or senseless game factors.

This game should have undergone far more testing. Controls should flow easily and effortlessly, and enemy AI shouldn't use cheap shots to win.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but lacking

Pros: Great looking game, most all of the original fighters return. DARTH VADER, The mutiplayer is fun if your into that kind of thing.

Cons: No team Vs, the story mode is a complete waste of time. The creation mode just makes clones of other fighters, and doesn't allow you to make a light saber wielding one.

Other Thoughts: I like SC2 better but I'm still a fan of the series and this one does a decent job.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Game

Pros: Absolutely awesome fighting game. I use to play Tekken a lot back in the day (which was made by namco also). And now this is my new favorite. Online is also a blast even though it lags a bit. Overall great game.

Cons: My case was cracked when I got it from UPS. Not neweggs fault though

5 out of 5 eggsamazing.

Pros: myriad of characters, high level of customization, nice controls, excellent voice acting, amazing graphics, smooth animations

Cons: none really

Other Thoughts: The newest heir to the Soul Calibur line, this game lives up to its lineage. Bringing back the plethora of classic characters, and introducing a few new faces, PLUS letting you throw your own creations into the mix; SC IV really keeps the fighting game spirit alive. Smooth animations and quick response time keep you glued to the set, white knuckle gripping the control pad in your quest to acquire the legendary blade. This game takes full advantage of the Xbox360's stunning 1080p HD resolution and brings the characters to life. One point though, with the ability to make your own new characters, dress, and arm them; be careful not to fall in love.

5 out of 5 eggsSoul Still Burns

Pros: Great game, really solid and loads of fun to play. There is actually a lot here to dig in to, but if you're not a super hard core gamer then it may be pretty frustrating before you figure out the whole system of things. The character creator is amazing and being able to fight with a lightsaber as Yoda or Starkiller is the biggest plus EVER!

Cons: Nothing except it leaves me wanting more and it frustrates the heck out of me when I can't get past a battle. Online play is a bit sketchy, but that might be my connection and not the game itself.

Other Thoughts: DLC is supposed to be coming, so I'm hoping for more Star Wars characters. The balance is not off at all with any of the characters in my experience, even though some reviews say Yoda is overpowered. He's small and has no reach and I've got my little green pointy ears handed to me on more than one occasion.

4 out of 5 eggsA Good pick up for fighting game fans

Pros: As usual Namco supplies a good deal of bonus features with its fighting games. The create character, on-line play, story, arcade, towers modes, etc. will keep you occupied for sometime.

The graphics are top notch and the English voice overs aren't complete garbage they have been in prior Soul Calibur games. I normally would take bad English voice overs over Japanese voice overs but in the case of the SC games of the past, i went for the subtitles.

Cons: Load times, the game has a good deal of loading. The only thing I can say about that is that there is an update coming soon for XBL that will allow 360 owners to install games to their hard drive soon. So if you have an Elite or one of the new 60GB models this con probably won't mean much to yo shortly.

Other Thoughts: I haven't had enough competitve play to see if they fixed the balance issues or not. SCIII had terrible balance, hopefully SCIV's balance holds up. I don't like playing fighting games in which half the cast is useless.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat game

Pros: New characters are good, visuals top notch, physics system is pretty fun to play with, critical finishes, armor that actively takes damage, old characters still play like old characters.

Cons: loading times, load times, load times, load times.
some old characters got nerfed a bit too much.
character creation system has wayyyy too many loading moments

Other Thoughts: overall a great game, the cons are pretty minor, but some old characters, specifcally raphael, got nerfed a bit too much
