5 out of 5 eggsExcellent work out tool - if you figure out it's quirks

Pros: Excellent range and depth of activities and exercises. I got this to not only learn new exercises, but to also have something that will track me and give me a schedule to stick to.
The activities are a lot of fun. The workouts are challenging - highly challenging the first several times - I am on beginner mode and it is challenging One of these days I'll switch it up to a harder difficulty level to see how quickly it can leave me panting in a puddle of my own sweat on the floor.
Highly varied routines work against boredom. There are certain staple exercises that you will see often, but otherwise, week two exercises and routines look very different from week one, which is a good thing. I've been doing a 30 day endurance workout schedule, and am seeing a good mix of power, cardio, and plyometric workouts. I am learning a great deal, getting into better shape, and being challenged in a fun way to do so. I will be using this product for a long, long time.

Cons: Explanation of detection could be far better. For instance, you have to follow the timing of the arrows (if you do it before it shows the arrow, it will NOT count the movement). Also, it takes a while to figure out what specific body movement it is looking for. That could be better.
A couple of examples: side lunges - I have to almost chamber my leg for a kick when coming back to standing, then bring that foot straight down in an exaggerated motion for it to detect that I've come back to standing. When doing side lunges with a twist, it will not properly detect that I have in fact twisted at the bottom of the lunge unless my hands are together.
The warm ups and cooldown stretches are a bit of a joke. They're all exactly the same. Buy a good stretching book, and figure out your own stretching/warmup routines for the warmup and cooldown sections.

Other Thoughts: I hope you like to swear. Because at first, until you follow the timing of the arrows AND you've figured out what movement/s the kinect is specifically looking for, you're probably going to do quite a bit of it.

It is well worth the effort of figuring out how to do the exercises in such a way that they are properly detected - because if you can do that, you will learn a whole lot of exercises and achieve your fitness goals in a way that is highly unlikely to get boring any time in the near future.

Have a BIG room to play this game in. I am several feet away from the kinect (placed about a foot and a half off the floor) and I'm backed up into the very rear corner of the room - becomes an issue sometimes. You will not be able to play this in a small room, don't even try.

Awesome product otherwise. I'm getting exactly what I wanted out of it.

2 out of 5 eggsNot good

Pros: Would be ok I guess if it worked correctly.

Cons: Not sure what to say other than it doesn't work consistently at all. I have ample space, the kinect is mounted ideally but it just doesn't register well at all. I'm a 7 year personal trainer with a B.S. in Strength and Conditioning and my push-ups didn't register 20% of the time lol. As a PT I notice the smallest changes in exercise form and I have no idea why some score and some don't with the connect. Sit ups also missed about 30% of the time and side lunges wouldn't register at all. The only side lunge that scored was when I stood straight up and turned to comment to my wife on the inconsistency of the game and while I'm standing there completely erect it registers a side lunge after not counting like 20 in a row.

Other Thoughts: Honestly the Kinect is just another disfunctional piece of garbage from Microsoft. The game obviously needs to have it's consistency worked on as well but I doubt the kinect is helping it make up for any of its inadequacies.

3 out of 5 eggsOk but not great.

Pros: -The idea of this game is great...Hitting the mitts works well and is pretty fun for a bit.
-It does work you out for sure.
I use it to fill in the gaps when I can't get outside and get real excersise.

Cons: Poor tracking...alot of the excercises will not be tracked well by the kinect so you will end up doing more reps and/or getting shamed by the animated trainer. I find myself yelling "because your software sucks" at the tv at least twice per workout.

Other Thoughts: It's a good workout if you stick with it. I really think it was made for slightly overweight people and not fat people...how many fat people can do a v-up none that I know and they throw that move into the begginer mode.

5 out of 5 eggsLife Changer!

Pros: This game really does it's job! Gets you going and makes you sweat hard. I have already noticed a difference in my body and energy levels. It does a good job at keeping you motivated and on track with your fitness plans.

Cons: The voice commands don't seem to be working properly, hopefully they will fix this in a future update though.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this game unless you are prepared to be committed and ready to work out to your limit. This game is not just a fun activity to do, it is hard work with great rewards for your health and well being. Highly enjoyable if you are willing to put in the work, otherwise don't waste your time and don't bad mouth the product because that's purely your fault.

1 out of 5 eggsSave your money and go for a walk

Pros: The interactivity with a workout is a great concept but.....

Cons: ... it's beaten by inoperability in this game. I only had 3 days left of my 30 day cut weight program. So tonight, I looked at the calendar and it showed I would be doing 32 exercises tonight so before I started, I did some side by side challenges with my wife for the first time. We did silver speed bag and silver tire flips. when done, she walked off and it said it could not see her. So, I got her to come back into the room, be recognized then I went back to main menu and she left while this was happening. So, alls fine and I went to go to my calendar and it's not mine - it's hers. I can clearly see that I am still logged in, the player tracker has all of my info, not hers. I went back to dashboard and back to game - still not my calendar. Restarted the XBox - still the same problem.

Other Thoughts: The game also freezes at times or gets interupted by it's inability to connect to the UFCPT servers, which seem to go down a few times a week.

It continuously fails to recognize certain movements.'

It fails to award all achievements and avatar awards.

Customer service is a COMPLETE JOKE!!! Their "fix" for everything is to uninstall and start all over again. This is of course when they actually respond. Don't ever get fooled into emailing Tank@THQ.com as he rarely responds.
