5 out of 5 eggsPerfect power bank

Pros: IOGEAR Mobile Power Station is able to charege almost every USB device I have, except my Nokia cell phone, which requires lower amp current.

Cons: no so far

Other Thoughts: What I like most is it holds charge for long time without recharging.

4 out of 5 eggsBasic Ohm's Law

Pros: 11000mah at a good price, IOGear has been good to me.

Cons: None yet but when it arrives I will be back to update :)

Other Thoughts: If your reading this Please read the whole thing to help better understand a mobile battery (Power Station).

First: The Specs display battery capacity NOT device charging capacity.

Second: No matter what current is available, your device will only draw what is required and less as it reaches capacity. On the other hand, if you supply a device with more voltage than it requires you will fry it.

N/A Your (Special Adapter) must have been a frayed wire with pins stuck in it.

Ohm's law says E/I = R that is to say, Voltage divided by Current = Resistance.

To do your test CORRECTLY: 5v/2.1a = 2.38ohms you need a 2.38ohm resistor NOT a device that is a variable load.
Now so you don't pop the resistor, E*I = W or Voltage times Current = Watts.
So 5v*2.1a = 10.5 Watts. So put your pins in series with a 2.38ohm 15Watt(Rounded up) resistor and your $7 amp meter then place them right across the + and - 5v output pins. Don't leave them on to long it will drain and over heat (Damage) your battery.

Next, I don't believe there is a DC/DC convertor in there, the cost is to low, not sure. If there were, I am sure the individual current outputs would be more stable such as a switching power supply found in most PC power supplies. I believe they are just plain voltage regulators, that would account for the slight variation in current due to the NON UNIFORM LOADS (devices) being placed on them.

Now for an explanation in charge capacities everyone can understand without trying to figure out where you got that trash from.

Example:
You have 2 one gallon containers (SAME SHAPE) sitting on the same surface and you want to fill the empty 1 100% from the other by connecting a tube in the bottoms of both leaving the other empty. You can't do it unless you pick one container up higher than the other, the best you will do is half a gallon. Batteries are like these containers on the same surface with wire being the tube, only you do not have the option of picking one up higher than the other.

If you had 1 two gallon container and 1 one gallon container you could get 1 gallon and NO MORE. When you have 1 gallon in each container they are equal, the source container can not push any higher than its own level.

In short, a battery with an 11000ma capacity can only charge another 11000ma device to 5500ma. If you had 11 1000ma devices you could only charge 10.5 of them from 0 to 100% because the last device requires 1000ma and all the battery has is 1000ma therefore it can only give 500ma.

Now, that being said, if you leave your new 11000ma battery plugged into you device, it WILL run much longer, until BOTH batteries are dead.
These types of batteries CAN CHARGE you device how much and how many times you can figure out from the example. THESE BATTERIES ARE an EXTERNAL POWER SOURCE FIRST...

5 out of 5 eggsWorks good for me

Pros: Good price for high mAh.
Have not had any problems charging my Samsung GS3

Cons: It will take time to fully charge. Just make sure you charge it over night if you know you will need it all day.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you use the correct USB port to charge your device.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: $39.95 is good price for it.
Two USB out ports.
Standard micro-Usb in port.

Cons: 2.1A USB charging port actually outputs about 1.1-1.2A. Tested with Nexus 7 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 (with special adapter). And about 0.9A when second (1A) port is used for charging Samsung Galaxy 2 simultaneously.

So, 2.1A output is grossly overrated.

Other Thoughts: During my tests, I find out that "real" charging capacity is about 6000mAh.

This fact is in compliance with next formula:

11000mAh (lipo capacity) * 3.7V (lipo voltage) / 5V (USB output) * 0.7 (effectiveness of DC/DC converter) = 5700mAh

So, basically I can charge my Nexus 7 about 1.3 times (N7 has 4350mAh battery) or my Galaxy Tab 10.1 about 0.8 times (Tab 10.1 has 7000mAh battery).

This is as expected. The only minus is that output current is not 2.1A as in specs.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Fast charge, lots of power, relatively light, fits in pocket, comes with drawstring carrying bag and decent cables. Easy to use.

Cons: No complaints.

Other Thoughts: Was a great value on sale and highly recommend. Don't know how long it retains charge, but arrived 90% full.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: 1) Has AC Adapter
2) AC Adpater use a USB to Micro USB to connect to battery which can ALSO be use to connect the battery to the phone! (For micro USB devices)
3) 11,000mah. thats a lot of juice!
4) dual Charging ports!

Cons: Long charge time? But its a huge battery. It comes half charged and took 2-4 hours to fully charge so look at 8 to maybe 10 hours charge time for a dead battery

Other Thoughts: At first I didn't read all the instuctions all the way though. For those who are like WHY ISN'T IT CHARGING...Did you press the battery button? You have to press the battery button for it to start charging.

It is kinda big (Like the size of a good 1TB Portable hard drive) But again...11,000mah.

I took two identical phones. Droid X They are new battries, (3 months old) Drained them to 0% plugged one phone into the 1A and another in the 2.1A. The 1A is enough to keep the phone at its current battery %. Now both phones had the screen on the entire time with a video playing (Trying to simulate a phone being used at the same time of it being plugged in) and the 2.1A CHARGED the phone from 0-100% in just under 2 hours. The 1A in the same time period only charged to a mer 13%. So use the 2.1A port for most items!

After having Both phones fully charged and Running the entire time it was plugged in only lost 1 of 4 bars. Mind you my Droid X battires are 1500mah. So thats 3000mah to charge plus powering the phone. So look at a good 6-10 charges of your phone on a single charge of this battery depending on your battery capacity, what you are doing on the phone, and if your phone is even on. If your phone was off it would charge faster AND use less power from the portable. Over all this seems to be pretty soild.

Will update if anything changes!
